By launching RCX Light, a company specializing in large-scale lighting and facade projects in India, Prince Kumar, Ravi Chand Sharma, and Ravi Kumar established a strong identity for themselves. When they entered Shark Tank India with RCX Light, they introduced a business that combined technology, creativity, and architecture in a way rarely seen on the show.

Founded in 2021 in Chhapra, Bihar, RCX Light Private Limited was created with the vision of transforming ordinary buildings and event spaces into large-scale digital visual experiences. What started as a small-town startup has now evolved into a growing business in the architectural lighting and event technology sector.

The founders recognized the rising demand for immersive visual presentations across India’s wedding, entertainment, advertising, and public event industries. Instead of focusing on conventional decorative lighting, they built their business around digital facade lighting, pixel LED mapping, architectural illumination, projection mapping, and media facade advertising solutions.

Their technology enabled buildings and structures to display moving graphics, branding visuals, animations, and synchronized lighting effects, turning physical spaces into dynamic storytelling platforms. The journey, however, was not easy in the beginning. Operating from Bihar meant limited access to startup networks, investors, and major infrastructure support. The founders started with small investments and relied heavily on experimentation and practical execution.

One of their smartest decisions was creating a reusable inventory model. Instead of developing one-time installations, RCX Light reused its LED systems and digital setups across multiple events and projects. This strategy helped the company recover investments faster while maintaining better operational margins.

Projects Significantly Improved the Startup’s Credibility

As the business gained recognition, RCX Light expanded into large-scale event lighting, digital building displays, laser lighting setups, and outdoor advertising installations. Their work stood out because it blended entertainment with modern visual technology, offering clients far more immersive experiences compared to traditional lighting arrangements.

Gradually, the startup began receiving assignments from large clients and public institutions, helping it move beyond regional recognition. A major breakthrough came when RCX Light worked on a lighting project associated with the RBI office in Mumbai. This project significantly enhanced the startup’s credibility and proved that a company from a tier-2 city could compete in premium urban markets.

Their growing portfolio also strengthened their reputation in the event and digital advertising industries, where visually engaging experiences are becoming increasingly valuable. Even before appearing on Shark Tank India Season 5, the company had demonstrated solid financial growth. During the pitch, the founders revealed that RCX Light generated approximately Rs. 19 lakh in revenue in FY23 and around Rs. 26 lakh in FY24. They also shared that the company’s sales had crossed nearly Rs. 66 lakh during the ongoing financial year at the time of filming. Despite the growth, the company was struggling with debt pressure due to heavy investments in inventory and equipment, which became an important point of discussion during the pitch.

Transformed a Unique Idea into a Modern Indian Startup

The founders asked for Rs. 50 lakh in exchange for 5 percent equity, valuing the business at Rs. 10 crore. While several sharks appreciated the uniqueness of the concept and the quality of execution, Aman Gupta showed the strongest interest in the business.
Eventually, he offered Rs. 10 lakh for 5 percent equity along with Rs. 40 lakh as debt at 12 percent interest for three years. The founders accepted the offer, gaining both financial support and strategic guidance for future expansion.

Today, RCX Light continues to operate from Bihar and is steadily building its presence in India’s rapidly growing event technology and digital facade industry. The company’s journey reflects how entrepreneurs from smaller cities are using innovation and creativity to build businesses recognized across the country. By combining lighting technology with visual storytelling, the founders of RCX Light transformed a unique idea into a modern Indian startup serving a fast-growing industry demand.
