With a passion to travel the world and a desire to build a world-class hotel infrastructure in hospitality, the Management of The LIV Hotelshares insights and experience of having worked for the hospitality sector for a long period. The LIV Hotel is located in the heart of the city of Jaipur, at Sarojini Marg, C-Scheme, and besides being a Boutique Hotel, it has other outstanding features like a world-class Coffee Shop, outstanding SPA, a PAN Asian Restaurant at third floor, a Rooftop Multi-Cuisine Restaurant, BAR and a Splash Pool on the South Terrace at fourth Floor and a paranoiac view of Jaigarh, Nahargarh and Amagarh forts.

Question- Please tell us something about the idea of the Hotel? Was it the first concept of a business that came into your mind?

Answer- We would say that we were always fascinated towards working in the hospitality sector and our experience in the area helped us to realizeour aim. As we started working, we felt Tourism and Economy in India is an area where development is most likely and this favoredus with passion to work for this field. Our firm has been involved and has constructed the Oberio Raj Vilas, which is rated as one of the Best Luxury Hotels of the World and also, Hotel IBIS-Jaipur,which has 151 Rooms, and is a venture of InterGlobe and Accor Groups of Hotels. We took an initiative to open this Boutique Hotel, post-covid. Also, my travel to Turkey (in 2019, wherein we had stayed in Istanbul) led me to think of opening up a small Boutique Hotel.

Question- What businesses you have been in other than this? How were they different?

Answer- We have been in Construction Industry. We were working as Special S Class Contractors, and later, we heavily engaged from 2001 onwards towards Sustainability and Environment. We have been a member of CII (Confederation of Indian Industry) and IGBC (Indian Green Building Council). These associations helped us to gather and process more environmental and eco-friendly insights into our construction business. Even The LIV Hotel and the entire building has all the Sustainability Measures like double-glazed windows which reduce heat transfer, VRV air-conditioning and heating, Heat pumps and furniture made of green and sustainable, eco-friendly products.

Question- Tell us something about the LIV Hotel and additional services you provide?

Answer-Well, the LIV Hotel is a Boutique Hotel and an Experiential Hub, which is in the sense of providing the customers with a pinch of added luxury. It has 20 superbly designed suites and rooms. Additionally, we have Sammoda Spa, a sanctum of well-being. The various menus offer you a combination of authentic and organicspa treatments. We have individual as well as couple therapy sessions and a Jacuzzi. On the top floor, we have a pool and a bar, and at third floor, we have a restaurant, Nouba, which offers your taste buds a culinary delight worth-remembering, an open to skyDining Terraces and aCovered BAR.

Question- How is theLIV Hotel different from other hotels in Jaipur? Is it in the service you provide?

Answer- Yes. Because our manpower andpersonnelare extra courteous and the hotel is very hygienic and clean. Besides this, the Hotel is located in the heart of the city, which is in proximity with all the government offices. It is a Boutique Hotel and one-stop destination for guests.

Question- How do you see the hospitality industry in past, present and future times?

Answer- Well, in the past times, the hospitality sector was not as much developed as it is now. There used to be a limited number of hotels, and of course, Tourism was lesser and domestic tourists were not in such heavy numbers. With passage of time, the industry has evolved and there are many players in the market. You see big names coming up like Taj ITC, Hyatt, Marriott, Four Seasons and scores of others. Also, the demography is one of the major reasons of the enhancing demand. As the young population of India engages in more employment, there is a whole rise in the demand for better and luxurious living while travelling. Economic policies by the government are also getting liberal and there is inflow of more liquidity into the economy. This is all advocating towards the growth of hospitality sector in the country.

Question: Have you ever talked to any of the customers about the feedback and their purpose of visit to the hotel?

Answer: We generally do not ask the question as to why they visit the Hotel. But mostly, they come to seek Tourism and Business. For them, the most noteworthy aspect is that the hotel strictly follows the rule of keeping the premises immensely clean and hygiene. They also admire the fact that it is located at the prime location. There are scores of foreigners coming to the hotel and staying for larger number of days. I remember a couple from Australia, who came to stay time and again for 40 days or more, in the hotel. Similarly, several others from various countries are repeated travelers and guests. The feedbacks, so far, have been quite positive and encouraging for us. We have about 80/90% occupancy in Tourist Season.

Question- How does hotel engage with the local community? What are the marketing channels you prefer?

Answer- Well, the basic level of engagement happens through word-of-mouth.

Question- How do you see the pattern of female solo-travelling in India?

Answer- As compared to past, the recent times have seen more solo travelers. It is becoming a trend now. Today, women are far more liberated than earlier times. They know how to manage alone and they do that appreciating well. There are many solo travelers, especially girls and ladies, coming to stay. They all are the symbols of boldness and strength. They represent modern India as NARI SHAKTI.

Question- Which is the peak season for the hotel? When is the occupancythe highest?

Answer- The months from October to March are most busy for us.

Question- What challenges do you think hotel industry faces in these times?

Answer- A few challenges like proper hygiene, improper sewage disposal and faulty regulation of traffic really impactthe way in which hotels function. There should be cleanliness in the entire city, proper system to dispose the waste and regulation of road traffic in the city. These issues should be addressed systemically and immediately.
