Business Remedies | Rajshree Upadhyaya | June 13,2025 | In 2018, two brothers from Vadodara, Gujarat – Anantraj and Shivrajsingh Tomar, set out to challenge the status quo of electric mobility in India through innovation. Both trained engineers, they shared a lifelong fascination with machines and a common ambition to create something truly different. Their goal was not merely to build another electric motorcycle but to design a vehicle that combined performance with personalization and adapted in real time to the rider’s needs.
This vision led to the founding of Motion Breeze, a startup built on the concept of “Posture Adaptive Intelligence.” Their patented mechanism allowed the bike’s handlebar, seat, and footrest to adjust based on riding modes, commuter, cruiser, sports, and off-road – all at the push of a button. This promised riders unmatched comfort and versatility. Unlike many EVs focused solely on range or speed, Motion Breeze aimed to offer a holistic riding experience. Even on paper, their prototype was highly ambitious, a top speed of 180 km/h, acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in six seconds, and a range of 250 kilometers on a single charge. It was designed as a high-performance machine for both daily commuting and adventurous riding, rivalling petrol-powered motorcycles in both looks and capability.
India’s First Posture-Adaptive Electric Motorcycle Showcased on Shark Tank
To bring their innovation to the masses, the Tomar brothers appeared on Shark Tank India, Season 1, Episode 8, presenting Breeze as the country’s first posture-adaptive electric motorcycle. They sought Rs. 30 lakh for a 3% equity stake. Their pitch impressed with its engineering depth and futuristic appeal.
However, not all sharks were convinced. Namita Thapar questioned the clarity of the product’s market positioning. Aman Gupta raised concerns about competition in the saturated EV space. Anupam Mittal doubted its fit in the premium market segment. Peyush Bansal felt it was too early- stage to invest. Only Ashneer Grover recognized the potential in the innovation and the founders’ technical skills, but a deal did not materialize on-air. The reasons behind the failed deal were never publicly disclosed.
Further investigation revealed challenges. Before Shark Tank, they had secured Rs. 35 lakh in funding from a local mentor, Dipenbhai, who supported their early prototype. But bringing a high-end electric motorcycle to market demanded far more, especially in a country where hardware startups often struggle to secure sustained investment.
Breakthrough Prototype Never Made it to Mass Production
By the end of 2023, Motion Breeze had gone silent. No product was launched, no further funding came through, and public activity dwindled. The venture ultimately shut down, and the revolutionary prototype never entered mass production.
Yet for a brief moment, Motion Breeze captured the imagination of EV enthusiasts, engineers, and aspiring entrepreneurs across the country. It showcased what Indian innovation can look like when ambition meets design and vision is backed by technical skill. Though the startup journey ended before it could reach the market, it left behind a powerful message.
Motion Breeze was more than a product, it was a statement of intent. In the crowded field of electric vehicles, it dared to place personalization and adaptability at the core, not as afterthoughts. The Tomar brothers’ creation may never have hit the road, but their journey remains an inspiration.
Motion Breeze stands as a fleeting yet bold chapter in India’s evolving electric mobility story, a reminder that daring ideas are often the first steps towards lasting change, even if they don’t always move beyond the prototype.
