After completing her studies, she went to Germany and several European countries, where she pursued courses related to skin care, nutrition, and fitness. There, she realized that beauty is not limited only to the face or body, but is also connected with a healthy lifestyle and self-confidence.
Beginning of VLCC
In 1989, she started the first branch of VLCC in Safdarjung Enclave, Delhi. At that time, this concept was completely new in India. People knew about beauty parlors, but no one had thought of combining wellness, nutrition, and fitness in a scientific way. Vandana Luthra presented it as a holistic service, which included weight loss, skin and hair care, fitness training, and medical cosmetology.

Apart from this, arranging investment and winning the trust of customers was also not easy. But with her vision and self-confidence, she overcame all these difficulties. Gradually, people were impressed by her services, and the name VLCC became a trusted brand.
Expansion and Success
Today, VLCC is providing its services not only in India but also in more than 11 countries. The company has more than 300 wellness centers and over 100 beauty and nutrition training institutes. Vandana Luthra also ensured that the younger generation got employment and training in this field. Till now, lakhs of students have built their careers after taking training from VLCC institutes.
Social Contribution
Vandana Luthra did not remain limited only to business. She also made a big contribution to social service. She was associated with organizations like the Skill Development Council and FICCI Ladies Organization. Along with this, she started several training programs to make women self-reliant. Her effort has always been that women should create their own identity and become economically strong.
Awards and Honors
Looking at her hard work and achievements, she received many honors. The Government of India honored her with the Padma Shri. Apart from this, she also received titles like “Iconic Woman of the Year”, “Entrepreneur of the Year”, and many international awards.

She proved that if determination is firm, and work is done with hard work and honesty, then no field is difficult for women. Today, VLCC is not just a company, but has become a symbol of confidence and healthy living.
