Business Remedies | Shruti Kothari | Sr. News Editor | Some days do not ask us to do more. They ask us to feel more. Today is one of those days. As the New Moon drapes the sky in stillness and International Self-Care Day invites us inward, we are reminded to return to the quiet spaces within. Healing does not always arrive with noise or urgency. Sometimes it begins in a deep breath, in the flicker of a candle, in the steady presence of a pet resting nearby, or in the gentle release of something no longer meant to stay.

To explore how we can embrace this moment more mindfully, we spoke with Gurpreet Gandhi from Jaipur. She is an Animal Communicator, Animal Reiki Healer, Reiki Grandmaster, Karuna Reiki Grandmaster, Lama Fera Healer, Theta Healer, Tarot Reader, Crystal Therapist, and Angel Therapist. With a deep connection to both human and animal healing, Gurpreet offers intuitive and holistic support for emotional balance, spiritual clarity, and meaningful reconnection.

International Self-Care Day, a day to listen to the whispers within
Her message on this day is clear: “International Self-Care Day is a gentle reminder to come back home to yourself. Self-care isn’t selfish, it’s essential,” she says. “When you’re feeling disconnected or overwhelmed, it’s often a sign your inner world needs some love and attention.”
Gurpreet encourages starting small. Taking a few deep breaths, stepping outside to feel the sun on your skin, or doing something that brings you joy, even if only for a few minutes, can be powerful ways to reconnect. “These little moments of self-compassion matter. They help you reconnect with your body, mind, and spirit.” She gently reminds us that this reconnection is a journey, not a destination. “Be kind to yourself along the way. Celebrate the small wins. And if you’re struggling, it’s absolutely okay to reach out for support, from a therapist, a friend, or someone who sees and hears you.” Her call this Self-Care Day is to make space for clarity, balance, and joy by placing ourselves back on our own priority list. In her experience, simple daily energy practices can make a world of difference. Gurpreet recommends beginning with mindful breathing, taking short walks to uplift your energy, and making time to reflect on one to three things you’re grateful for each day. She also suggests stepping away from digital screens regularly to reconnect with the present moment, staying nourished with whole foods and proper hydration, and giving your body the rest it needs through quality sleep. Gentle movement, such as stretching or dancing, helps release tension, while speaking kind, affirming words to yourself each morning can set the tone for the day ahead. She believes that engaging in joyful, creative activities also supports a deeper sense of well-being.

“Even the smallest act of self-care can make a big difference when done with intention,” she explains. “These simple practices help you stay balanced, present, and connected to your inner self, one mindful moment at a time.”

Under the New Moon sky, a chance to begin again
While International Self-Care Day invites us to return to ourselves, the quiet arrival of the New Moon offers the perfect energetic backdrop for doing so. Gurpreet describes the New Moon as “a special time that brings a chance for healing, growth, and fresh starts.” It is a sacred pause, she explains, a moment to slow down, check in with ourselves, and get clear on what we truly need.

As a healer, Gurpreet sees the New Moon as an opportunity to reconnect with her inner wisdom and deepen her clarity. “I usually spend it meditating, journaling, and doing practices that help me feel grounded and in tune with myself. It’s in these quiet moments that I receive the guidance I need, not just for my own healing, but for how I show up in my work too.”

Her personal rituals during this lunar phase are both simple and intentional. She lights a candle, works with crystals or herbs, and uses palo santo to clear the energy around her. She reflects in silence, journals what she is ready to release, and sometimes performs a symbolic act of letting go by safely burning or burying those written intentions. “These little moments help me feel grounded, clear, and more connected to myself and my path.”

She encourages others to explore their own version of this practice. “Creating your own New Moon ritual doesn’t have to be complicated. Meditating, taking a quiet yoga class, or writing a list of your intentions can all be powerful.” She suggests setting the space with candles, incense, or crystals, then closing your eyes to visualize your desires as if they have already come to life. “It’s a beautiful way to reconnect with yourself, set clear intentions, and invite in the energy you want to carry forward.”

The quiet magic of energy realignment
Energy healing, as Gurpreet gently explains, is about helping your energy return to balance. “When life starts to feel heavy or your emotions feel all over the place, it’s often a sign that your energy might be blocked or out of alignment,” she says. Practices such as Reiki, Theta Healing, and chakra balancing work by clearing these blockages so that energy can flow freely again. She describes it as a holistic practice that works with what many call life force or subtle energy, the kind of energy that supports physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. “The idea is that when this energy is flowing smoothly, you feel more balanced, calm, and whole,” she explains.

Gurpreet’s sessions are tailored to individual needs, whether for humans or animals. “Energy cleansing sessions can be deeply supportive for both humans and animals, though the approach may vary depending on their unique needs,” she says. For animals, she uses intuitive and gentle techniques such as Reiki to help them relax, release stress, and support healing, whether it is physical, emotional, or behavioural. These sessions are especially helpful for pets recovering from surgery, dealing with trauma, or showing signs of anxiety or unusual behaviour. They are conducted in calm, familiar environments where the animal feels safe, and are always intended as complementary to traditional veterinary care.
For people, the focus is on clearing away stagnant or negative energy and restoring the body, mind, and spirit to a more balanced state. Gurpreet may incorporate meditation, smudging with sage, salt baths, chakra balancing, Reiki, or Lama Fera, depending on the needs of the individual. “Each session is personalized to help release emotional blocks, restore energetic flow, and support overall well-being,” she explains. Whether working with a person or a beloved pet, her intention remains the same. To bring in more peace, clarity, and harmony, allowing natural healing to unfold.

Conversations beyond words
Among the most unique aspects of Gurpreet Gandhi’s work is her gift for animal communication, a practice that remains unfamiliar to many but deeply transformative for those who experience it. “Animal communication is all about tuning into an animal’s energy and connecting with them on an intuitive, energetic level,” she explains. This connection unfolds not through spoken words or body language, but through a quiet exchange of emotions, images, and sensations. Animal communication is a form of extrasensory perception (ESP). Gurpreet describes it as a gentle, telepathic process. “It’s like a two-way conversation, just without words.” Through this subtle connection, she is able to understand how an animal is feeling, what they may need, or even what they wish to express to their human companions. “It allows us to better understand them from their perspective,” she adds. Whether it is offering emotional support, identifying the root of behavioural changes, or helping an animal adjust to transitions in the home, these sessions open up space for clarity, trust, and healing.

Her journey into this work began long before she trained in the practice. “Even as a child, I felt a deep, natural connection with animals, like I could understand them without needing words.” Over time, she followed that instinct and began to study animal communication more formally. She now blends intuitive awareness with energy healing to support the emotional and physical well-being of pets and their people. “It is a deeply heart-centered practice that allows us to truly listen to our animal companions.”

A gentle return to what matters
Some days do not ask us to do more.

Through her deeply intuitive work, Gurpreet Gandhi invites us to honour that stillness. She teaches that energy holds memory, animals speak in emotion, and real peace often arrives without a sound. Her message is simple and sacred. Come back to yourself. Listen closely. Trust what you feel. And in that soft awareness, let healing unfold in its own perfect rhythm.
