While most startups concentrate on urban consumers and digital convenience, the two brothers from Mumbai chose to address a critical challenge within India’s dairy ecosystem.

They launched Sparsh Brush in early 2023 after recognizing a simple yet significant issue: cows and buffaloes often suffer from dirt accumulation, shedding hair, skin irritation, and physical discomfort. Despite India’s vast livestock population, very few products in the market were specifically designed to address these concerns.

The founders developed sensor-activated cattle grooming brushes that allow animals to groom themselves whenever needed. Designed for dairy farms, gaushalas, and livestock owners, these machines help remove dust, dirt, and loose hair while providing a gentle massage-like experience. According to the company, regular use can improve blood circulation, promote healthier skin, and enhance overall animal comfort.

The concept successfully combined animal welfare with practical farm management, creating a category that had received little attention despite India’s large cattle population. What further differentiated Sparsh Brush was its focus on adapting modern livestock technology to Indian conditions. The company’s products incorporate non-touch sensors, automatic activation systems, and anti-lock motor technology, enabling the brushes to start operating automatically when an animal approaches.

The founders positioned the product not merely as a grooming tool but as a comprehensive animal-care solution capable of improving hygiene standards and livestock well-being on farms. Their “Make in India” approach also focused on developing equipment tailored to local environmental and operational requirements.

As awareness regarding animal welfare continued to grow, Sparsh Brush gradually expanded its presence across the country. The startup reported serving more than 1,500 customers and generating over Rs. 6 crore in lifetime sales. Its grooming brushes, priced at approximately Rs. 42,000 per unit, gained popularity among dairy operators looking to modernize livestock management practices. Financially, the business demonstrated solid growth, reporting revenue of nearly Rs. 1.98 crore in FY25 while maintaining healthy profit margins. These figures highlighted that a niche agritech concept could attract a strong customer base when it effectively solved a real-world problem.

A major breakthrough came when Sparsh Brush appeared on Shark Tank India Season 5. During Episode 20, Manish and Sunil sought an investment of Rs. 20 lakh in exchange for 1 percent equity, valuing the company at Rs. 20 crore. Their pitch emphasized how technology-driven animal care could improve livestock health and enhance operational efficiency in dairy farming. The uniqueness of the business immediately caught the attention of the sharks, as livestock-care technology remains a relatively underexplored segment on mainstream startup platforms.

Emerging as a Recognized Agritech Venture
After extensive discussions, investors Anupam Mittal and Namita Thapar decided to support the founders. The final deal included Rs. 20 lakh for 1 percent equity along with a 2 percent royalty until Rs. 1 crore was repaid. The investment significantly increased Sparsh Brush’s national visibility and introduced the brand to a much wider audience. More importantly, it demonstrated how innovation can emerge from traditional sectors that are often overlooked by entrepreneurs and investors.

As of 2026, Sparsh Brush continues to operate and provide automated cattle grooming brushes, animal hygiene solutions, and technology-driven comfort systems for livestock across India. What began as a niche idea in the cattle-care sector has gradually evolved into a recognized agritech venture, proving that impactful businesses can be built by solving the everyday challenges faced by farmers and livestock owners rather than simply following market trends.
