At a time when most wellness brands were largely focused on surface-level fitness and nutrition, Decode Age set out to go deeper-examining ageing at a biological level and shifting the conversation from lifespan to healthspan. The founders viewed longevity as a data-driven problem. Their early work revolved around translating complex global research on cellular ageing, metabolism, and inflammation into practical solutions that could be adopted even outside clinical settings.

Decode Age positioned itself not as a traditional wellness label, but as a longevity science company-one that aimed to bridge the gap between the latest research and everyday health decisions. Decode Age’s defining moment came in February 2024, when the founders appeared on Shark Tank India Season 3. They used the platform to clearly explain the difference between chronological age and biological age-a distinction that immediately set their pitch apart. They presented a three-pronged approach focused on prevention, prediction, and personalization, arguing that early access to the right biological data could help slow age-related decline.

The pitch prompted in-depth scrutiny from the sharks, particularly around scientific validation, consumer education, and the size of the addressable market. After multiple discussions, Anupam Mittal offered Rs. 1 crore for 2.25% equity, along with a royalty component capped at a predefined recovery amount.

This deal provided a major boost to the legitimacy of longevity science as a consumer category in India and brought Decode Age into the national spotlight. The Shark Tank appearance also amplified conversations around healthspan, helping Decode Age move beyond niche scientific circles into mainstream awareness.

Post-Shark Tank India, Decode Age focused on strengthening its scientific depth and refining its offerings. The team worked on improving the accuracy of testing methods, enhancing formulation quality, and expanding educational initiatives to help consumers better understand how biological ageing works. Rather than promising longer life, the brand positioned longevity as a pursuit of better quality of life through continuous, informed interventions.

Creating a Distinct Identity in the Wellness Landscape
The company’s research-driven growth attracted institutional interest, leading to a pre-Series funding round that supported further investment in biomarker research, microbiome science, and product development. This phase marked a crucial transition from early experimentation to structured scaling, reinforcing Decode Age’s goal of building a long-term platform around ageing biology, rather than chasing short-term wellness trends.

Decode Age’s journey reflects the growing curiosity among Indian consumers about proactive health management, as well as the founders’ determination to translate complex scientific domains into accessible, consumer-facing solutions. By combining supplements, diagnostic insights, and personalized longevity solutions, Decode Age has carved a distinct identity in the wellness landscape and established itself as one of the early brands bringing longevity science into India’s startup conversation.
