Rajshree Upadhyaya | Business Remedies | By taking on the challenge of simplifying business education in modern India, sibling duo Anurag and Radhika Sundarka founded ZebraLearn and carved a distinct identity for themselves. They felt that subjects like finance, marketing, and management were made unnecessarily complex for most learners. Coming from a strong finance background and having worked closely with real-world business data, they realised that the problem was not a lack of information, but the way it was presented.
Text-heavy books and jargon-filled courses often intimidated learners instead of encouraging them. This gap became the foundation of ZebraLearn. The idea began taking shape in 2019, and in August 2020, the company was officially incorporated as ZebraLearn Private Limited in Surat, Gujarat.
From the very beginning, the company positioned itself as a learning brand that prioritised clarity, design, and practical relevance over academic rigidity. Instead of functioning like a conventional edtech platform, ZebraLearn evolved into a modern publishing and learning company, focusing on visual storytelling and structured simplification of complex concepts. The founders believed that learning should feel easy and engaging, especially for young professionals progressing in their careers.
ZebraLearn differentiated itself through its signature offerings-visually appealing books designed to make intimidating topics easy to understand. These books featured illustrations, frameworks, real-world examples, and simple explanations, enabling readers to grasp concepts quickly and apply them immediately. Over time, the brand expanded its ecosystem with supporting digital content such as podcasts, QR-based resources, and interactive learning tools, creating a blended learning experience that seamlessly connects offline and online education.
A Strong Identity Among Entrepreneurs
By consistently expanding its catalogue, ZebraLearn built a strong presence among students, working professionals, and entrepreneurs seeking practical business knowledge. Several of its titles performed well on online marketplaces, helping the company reach a large and growing reader base across India. The founders continued to focus on subjects with real career impact, such as investing, financial literacy, business fundamentals, and professional skill development-areas closely aligned with India’s emerging workforce.
The brand’s visibility grew further with its appearance on Shark Tank India Season 4, where Anurag and Radhika Sundarka presented their vision, traction, and business model to the investors. Their pitch highlighted the company’s growing revenue, expanding customer base, and strong brand recall driven by its design-first approach. While the sharks raised concerns around scalability, repeat purchases, and the long-term dynamics of a publishing-led model, the clarity of vision and execution stood out. Ultimately, Ritesh Agarwal invested Rs. 1 crore for a 1.6% equity stake, providing ZebraLearn with both capital and strategic support at a crucial stage of growth.
Focus on Clarity, Relevance, and Visual Engagement
Beyond the investment, the Shark Tank appearance significantly boosted ZebraLearn’s visibility, helping it reach new audiences and strengthen its position as a trusted learning brand. The founders continue to refine their product strategy, balancing depth of content with accessibility, while exploring ways to expand learning formats without compromising the brand’s core philosophy.
As of now, ZebraLearn Private Limited remains active and operational, publishing new learning content and engaging with a growing community of learners. The company’s journey reflects a broader shift in how education is being consumed in modern India-where learners value clarity, relevance, and visual engagement over traditional rote-learning methods. At its heart, ZebraLearn’s story is about making knowledge less intimidating and more empowering, driven by two founders who believe that understanding should never be out of reach.
