India का Steel Sector आर्थिक परिवर्तन का सशक्त दर्पण है

Union Minister for Steel and Heavy Industries HD Kumaraswamy ने कहा है कि India का steel sector देश के broader economic transformation को स्पष्ट रूप से reflect कर रहा है और यह growth, resilience तथा global integration का एक प्रमुख pillar बन चुका है। Minister ने यह भी highlight किया कि India इस समय world का second-largest steel producer है। उन्होंने कहा कि यह position sustained reforms, steady investments और एक clear long-term vision के माध्यम से हासिल की गई है, जिसका focus modernisation, self-reliance और sustainability पर केंद्रित रहा है।

GDP Contribution और Employment Impact

Minister ने note किया कि steel sector India के GDP में लगभग 2.5 per cent का contribution देता है और करीब 2.8 million livelihoods को support प्रदान करता है। Steel demand के प्रमुख drivers infrastructure expansion, manufacturing growth और strategic sectors जैसे defence तथा mobility बने हुए हैं। Kumaraswamy ने Ambassadors और key partner countries के representatives के साथ एक interactive meeting आयोजित की, जिसमें उन्हें ‘Bharat Steel 2026’ में actively participate करने के लिए invite किया गया। यह event April 2026 में आयोजित किया जाना प्रस्तावित है। यह meeting Ministry of Steel के outreach efforts का हिस्सा रही, जिसका aim international cooperation को deepen करना और global steel-producing तथा steel-consuming nations के साथ India के engagement को मजबूत करना है। Minister ने Ambassadors का स्वागत किया और उनकी presence के लिए धन्यवाद दिया, यह कहते हुए कि उनकी participation trusted international partnerships की importance को दर्शाती है। National Steel Policy 2017 और Prime Minister Narendra Modi के visionary leadership का reference देते हुए, Minister ने कहा कि India year 2030 तक 300 million tonnes steel capacity की दिशा में steadily आगे बढ़ रहा है, जबकि year 2047 तक 500 million tonnes का और भी ambitious target निर्धारित किया गया है।

International Conference और Industry Platform

Minister के अनुसार, ये milestones India को global steel value chains के साथ और अधिक integrate करेंगे तथा international collaboration के नए avenues खोलेंगे। Ministry of Steel ने एक annual flagship International Conference-cum-Exhibition को institutionalise करने का निर्णय लिया है, जिसका title “Bharat Steel” रखा गया है। Bharat Steel 2026 को एक global platform के रूप में envision किया गया है, जहां policymakers, industry leaders, investors, technology providers और buyers दुनिया भर से एक साथ एकत्र होंगे।

B2B Engagement और Future Focus

Event का एक key feature Reverse Buyer–Seller Meet होगा, जो structured B2B engagements को facilitate करेगा और long-term partnerships को foster करेगा। Conference का focus steel consumption expansion, sustainability, circular economy promotion, raw material supply chain security, technological innovation acceleration और capacity expansion के लिए investments enable करने पर केंद्रित रहेगा।
