India–New Zealand Free Trade Agreement भारत की trade diplomacy में एक महत्वपूर्ण milestone को दर्शाता है, जो comprehensive economic cooperation के लिए नए रास्ते खोलता है। Official statement के अनुसार, यह Agreement economy के कई क्षेत्रों में tangible और wide-ranging benefits प्रदान करता है।
इस FTA के तहत Indian goods के लिए बेहतर market access सुनिश्चित किया गया है, services और mobility में opportunities को expand किया गया है, और agriculture, investment तथा emerging sectors में collaboration को deepen किया गया है। इससे overall economic growth को मजबूत support मिलता है। Agreement के माध्यम से 100 प्रतिशत Indian exports पर duty को eliminate किया गया है। इसके साथ ही अगले 15 वर्षों में $20 billion का investment commitment शामिल है, जो long-term economic और strategic cooperation को strengthen करेगा।
Statement में कहा गया कि Agricultural Productivity Partnership के तहत FTA farmers के साथ मिलकर productivity को boost करता है और उन्हें global value chains से integrate करता है। Zero-duty access के जरिए textiles, apparel, leather, footwear, gems & jewellery, engineering goods और processed foods जैसे labour-intensive sectors में MSMEs और jobs को बढ़ावा मिलता है। India ने कुल tariff lines में से 70.03 प्रतिशत पर market access offer किया है, जबकि 29.97 प्रतिशत tariff lines को exclusion में रखा गया है। Exclusion list में dairy products, animal products (sheep meat को छोड़कर), vegetable products जैसे onions, chana, peas, corn, almonds, sugar, artificial honey, fats and oils, arms and ammunition, gems and jewellery, copper articles और aluminium products शामिल हैं।
New Zealand ने अपने 8,284 tariff lines पर Entry into Force से ही 100 प्रतिशत zero duty access प्रदान करने का offer दिया है। इससे पहले key Indian exports जैसे textile, apparel, leather, ceramics, carpets, automobiles और auto components पर करीब 10 प्रतिशत tariff लागू था। Average applied tariff 2025 में 2.2 प्रतिशत था, जो EIF से zero हो जाएगा। इसके अलावा New Zealand ने kiwifruit, apples और honey के लिए focused Action Plans पर सहमति दी है, जिससे Indian growers की productivity, quality और sectoral capabilities को improve किया जाएगा। Cooperation में Centres of Excellence की स्थापना, बेहतर planting material, growers के लिए capacity building, orchard management, post-harvest practices, supply chains और food safety शामिल हैं।
Statement के अनुसार, farmers और MSMEs से लेकर students और skilled professionals तक, इस Agreement के benefits broad-based होंगे। यह India को एक trusted और forward-looking global partner के रूप में मजबूत करेगा और globally integrated Viksit Bharat 2047 के vision को आगे बढ़ाएगा।
