Rajshree Upadhyaya |Business Remedies | Sahil Vohra and Isha Chadha Vohra carved their niche by transforming traditional Indian breakfast options into healthy instant meals through their venture, The Naturik Co.. In a country where breakfast traditions are rich and diverse, modern lifestyles often leave little time for cooking. Recognizing this gap, the husband-wife duo saw an opportunity to rethink how Indians begin their day.

They launched The Naturik Co. in 2022 with a clear mission-to create healthy Indian breakfast options that can be prepared quickly without compromising on nutrition or taste. Both founders brought strong professional backgrounds to the venture. Sahil, an MBA graduate from FMS Delhi, has over 17 years of experience working with major FMCG companies such as ITC, Britannia, Walmart, and Wrigley, gaining deep expertise in sales, distribution, and consumer markets. Isha studied Human Resources at Symbiosis Pune and worked in HR roles before entering the food business, where she managed quick-service restaurant outlets for brands like Tibbs Frankie and Giani Ice Cream. Their combined experience in food operations, consumer behavior, and business strategy laid the foundation for their entrepreneurial journey.

The idea for the company emerged from a personal challenge. Sahil, who was focused on maintaining a healthy lifestyle, struggled to find convenient, protein-rich breakfast options that also offered authentic Indian flavors. Most packaged breakfast foods in the market contained refined flour, preservatives, or excessive sugar. Realizing that many urban Indians faced the same issue, the couple began experimenting with ways to convert traditional recipes into nutritious instant meals. After extensive product development and collaboration with food technologists, they created a range of mixes designed to combine convenience with healthy nutrition.

Building a Presence in the Growing Breakfast Market
The Naturik Co. introduced a lineup of high-protein, ready-to-cook breakfast mixes that can be prepared in just a few minutes. These products were designed to revive traditional Indian breakfast dishes while making them suitable for modern lifestyles. Early offerings included cheela mix, masala millet khichdi, and sprouts mix, all made from ingredients like lentils, millets, and whole grains.
These mixes are free from sugar, refined flour (maida), palm oil, and artificial preservatives, helping the brand position itself as a clean-label alternative in the packaged food category. The founders promoted their products as “three-minute gourmet meals,” delivering both convenience and balanced nutrition.

One of the company’s key innovations is maintaining shelf life without chemical preservatives. The founders developed a process that significantly reduces moisture content in the flour, combined with vacuum packaging. This technique helps the products stay fresh for longer while preserving their nutritional quality-addressing a major challenge faced by natural food products, which typically have shorter shelf lives compared to highly processed foods.

The Naturik Co. began commercial sales around 2023 and gradually built a presence among health-conscious consumers. Initially, the products gained traction through retail outlets in the Delhi NCR region, along with availability on online marketplaces and direct-to-consumer platforms. During the financial year 2023-2024, the company recorded a revenue of approximately Rs. 87 lakh and expects strong growth as distribution expands. Increasing consumer awareness around healthy eating and protein-rich diets has further supported the brand’s growth in India’s rapidly expanding breakfast market.

Expanding Presence in India’s Health Food Segment
A major turning point for the startup came in January 2025, when the founders pitched their business on a national television entrepreneurial platform. They initially sought Rs. 50 lakh in exchange for 2% equity. The pitch quickly attracted strong interest from investors, leading to intense negotiations. Eventually, the founders secured a rare joint investment from all five investors, who collectively invested Rs. 4 crore for a 22.22% equity stake. This deal valued the company at approximately Rs. 18 crore and provided not only capital but also strategic mentorship to scale the business.

As of recent updates, The Naturik Co. continues to operate and expand its presence in India’s health food segment. Still in its early growth stage since its founding in 2022, the company is focused on increasing distribution, launching new product variations, and strengthening its position in the convenient nutrition space. By blending traditional Indian recipes with modern nutritional thinking and quick-preparation formats, Sahil Vohra and Isha Chadha Vohra are redefining how busy urban consumers approach their daily breakfast.
