Rajshree Upadhyaya | Jaipur | Business Remedies | Ishan Sukul has made his mark by launching the Indian gaming brand Kreo for creators. The journey of Kreo began in 2022, when Ishan Sukul, along with co-founder Himanshu Gupta, decided to build a homegrown gaming and creator-tech brand from Bengaluru. At a time when Indian consumers were largely dependent on expensive global peripherals, Sukul identified a clear gap in the market, where performance-driven yet affordable products were lacking. With a deep understanding of the gaming and content creation ecosystem, the founders envisioned Kreo as a brand that could make high-quality tech more accessible to India’s rapidly growing base of gamers, streamers and creators. From the beginning, Kreo adopted a digital-first approach, focusing on direct-to-consumer channels instead of traditional retail.
The brand invested heavily in building a strong community through online platforms, creator collaborations and grassroots engagement on campuses. This strategy helped Kreo quickly connect with Gen Z consumers, who were not only buying products but also building personal gaming and creator setups. The focus was not just on functionality but also on design, aesthetics and relatability, which helped the brand stand out in a crowded market. Kreo’s product ecosystem expanded steadily, with gaming keyboards becoming one of its strongest categories, supported by a wider portfolio including gaming mice, headsets, microphones, webcams and other content creation equipment.
As the brand grew, it also entered adjacent segments like monitors and gaming chairs, positioning itself as a comprehensive solution for gaming and creator setups. Each product category was designed to balance performance, durability and affordability, ensuring wider accessibility without compromising user experience.
Achieved multi-crore annual revenue in a short time
The company’s growth has been rapid and consistent. Starting from a modest revenue base in its early months, Kreo quickly scaled to achieve multi-crore annual revenue in a short span, driven by strong online demand and repeat customers. Its expanding product range and increasing visibility on e-commerce platforms contributed to its growing popularity among Indian consumers. While exact financial figures vary across public sources, overall, it reflects a fast-growing startup gaining momentum in a highly competitive segment. A key turning point in Kreo’s journey came with its appearance on Shark Tank India, where the founders presented their vision of building an Indian gaming brand capable of competing globally.
Initially, they sought Rs. 2 crore for 1 percent equity, valuing the company at Rs. 200 crore. After negotiations, they finalized a deal with Ritesh Agarwal, which included Rs. 1 crore for equity and an additional Rs. 1 crore as debt. This brought not only capital but also strategic mentorship, strengthening the company’s growth and credibility.
Expanding presence in the gaming and creator ecosystem
The exposure from Shark Tank India significantly boosted Kreo’s brand awareness, helping it reach far beyond its core community. Following the show, the company continued to invest in product innovation and supply chain efficiency, while expanding its reach across both metro and non-metro markets.
Its focus remains on staying closely connected with its user base, continuously improving its offerings based on feedback and evolving trends. Kreo is currently fully operational and actively growing in India’s consumer electronics and gaming accessories space. The company is launching new products, strengthening its distribution channels and deepening its presence in the gaming and creator ecosystem. What began as a response to a clear market gap has now evolved into a promising Indian brand aiming to compete with global players, reflecting the strong rise of homegrown startups in the country’s rapidly growing gaming industry.
