Rajshree Upadhyaya | Business Remedies | In a country where agriculture continues to support millions of livelihoods, efficient machinery can significantly transform the way farmers work. Recognizing this opportunity early, brothers Bhupendra Kumar Tailor and Devendra Kumar Tailor from Rajasthan set out to build a company focused on making farming equipment more accessible and practical for Indian farmers. Their venture, RBD Machine Tools, was founded in 2020 in Jaipur with the aim of simplifying labor intensive agricultural tasks through innovative yet affordable machinery designed specifically for local farming conditions.

The founders grew up in an environment closely connected to rural life and agriculture. Through their personal experiences, they witnessed how farmers often struggled with outdated tools, rising labor costs, and physically demanding work. These observations motivated the brothers to create machines that could reduce manual effort and improve productivity in the fields. Their goal was simple but powerful: design equipment that farmers could easily operate while saving time and increasing efficiency during daily farming activities.

From the beginning, the company focused on developing practical machines suited for Indian agricultural practices. Over time, RBD Machine Tools built a diverse portfolio of equipment aimed at helping farmers perform essential tasks with greater ease. Some of the widely known offerings from the brand include power reaper machines, chaff cutter machines, brush cutters, earth auger drills, battery powered knapsack sprayers, and petrol engine water pumps. These machines assist farmers in activities such as harvesting crops, cutting fodder, maintaining fields, digging soil, and managing irrigation, making everyday farm operations faster and more efficient.

One of the innovations that helped the company gain widespread attention was its improved power reaper chaff cutter, which included a seat for the operator. This modification allowed farmers to harvest crops more comfortably, reducing fatigue during long working hours in the field. Demonstrations of the machine quickly gained popularity online, with videos circulating widely on social media platforms and attracting significant interest from farmers across different regions of the country. This digital exposure played an important role in building awareness for the young company.
As the brand gained traction, RBD Machine Tools gradually expanded its distribution network. Operating from Jaipur, the company began supplying equipment through dealers, distributors, and online sales channels to reach farmers across multiple states. The founders also emphasized product demonstrations and after sales support, which helped build trust among customers who were often cautious about investing in new agricultural technology.

The growing demand for its equipment soon reflected in the company’s financial performance. RBD Machine Tools reported revenue of around Rs. 14.37 crore in the financial year 2023-24 and projected further growth in the following year. When the founders presented their business to investors on national television, they sought Rs. 1 crore in exchange for 1 percent equity, valuing the company at Rs. 100 crore. After negotiations, they secured an investment in which Namita Thapar and Ritesh Agarwal offered Rs. 50 lakh for 1 percent equity along with Rs. 50 lakh as debt at 9 percent interest, providing both funding and strategic support for the company’s expansion.

Beyond financial growth, the founders remain focused on a deeper mission of making agriculture more efficient for Indian farmers. By designing equipment that reduces manual labor and improves productivity, the company hopes to contribute to the modernization of farming practices across the country. Their approach centers on practical innovation rather than complex technology, ensuring that the machines remain affordable and easy to use for small and medium scale farmers.

Today, RBD Machine Tools Private Limited continues to operate as an active agricultural machinery company headquartered in Jaipur, Rajasthan. The business remains focused on manufacturing and supplying agricultural machinery and farm equipment solutions for farmers across India. With a foundation built on grassroots understanding of agricultural challenges and a commitment to practical innovation, the company represents a new generation of Indian startups working to improve farming efficiency while staying closely connected to the needs of rural communities.
