Shruti Kothari | Jaipur | Business Remedies | April 06,2025 | Hyundai Motor India’s flagship SUV, the Creta, surged to the top of the sales charts in March 2025, outselling the Maruti Suzuki Fronx and becoming the highest-selling car in the country for the month. According to industry data, Hyundai sold 18,059 units of the Creta in March, overtaking the Fronx, which had claimed the top spot in February with 21,461 units. This marks a significant milestone for Hyundai, reaffirming the Creta’s stronghold in India’s compact SUV segment.

Tarun Garg, Whole-Time Director and Chief Operating Officer, Hyundai Motor India Ltd., said: “The Hyundai Creta continues to set new benchmarks in India’s automotive landscape. Its consistent brand leadership in the SUV segment and now as the highest-selling model in March 2025 is a symbol of the strong emotional bond it shares with Indian customers.”
Creta closes FY25 with record numbers
Hyundai wrapped up the fourth quarter of FY 2024-25 (January to March) with a total of 52,898 units of the Creta sold. The model also set a new benchmark for itself in FY25 with 1,94,871 units sold across the fiscal year, registering a 20% year-on-year growth and achieving its highest-ever annual sales since launch in 2015.
Premium features
The data also revealed interesting consumer trends – about 69% of Creta buyers opted for variants equipped with a sunroof, and top-end variants accounted for 24% of the total sales. This indicates a growing demand for premium features even in the mass market SUV segment.
