Government द्वारा policy continuity और institutional clarity को बनाए रखा गया, और expanding public-private partnership framework ने 2025 में India के private space sector growth को आगे बढ़ाया। यह जानकारी Indian Space Association (ISpA) के Director General Lt. Gen. AK Bhatt (Retd.) ने दी।
Bhatt ने कहा कि 2025 को India के space sector के लिए decisive year के रूप में देखा गया, क्योंकि policy reforms ने launch, satellite manufacturing, Earth observation, space data और satellite communications जैसे क्षेत्रों में tangible execution को संभव बनाया। उन्होंने बताया कि 2025 के दौरान growth मुख्य रूप से private industry द्वारा संचालित की गई। इस अवधि में contracts को award किया गया, production lines को स्थापित किया गया, satellites को deploy किया गया, launch vehicles को operational readiness के करीब लाया गया और data-driven services को civilian, commercial और strategic domains में scale किया गया। India की space economy, जिसकी current valuation लगभग $9 billion है, अब आने वाले decade में $44 billion तक पहुंचने की clear trajectory पर आगे बढ़ रही है।
2025 में public-private partnerships को space value chain के central operating model के रूप में अपनाया गया। Global space economy में India की share, जो अभी लगभग 2 प्रतिशत आंकी गई है, 2033 तक बढ़कर लगभग 8 प्रतिशत तक पहुंचने का अनुमान है, जिसमें private industry की भूमिका प्रमुख मानी गई है। Bhatt ने कहा कि New Space Policy 2023, liberalised FDI Policy 2024 और Indian Telecommunications Act 2023 के implementation जैसे policy instruments ने long-term private investment के लिए predictability को सुनिश्चित किया। Liberalised FDI norms और IN-SPACe के single-window authorisation framework ने domestic और international players दोनों की participation को बढ़ावा दिया। Bhatt के अनुसार, 2025 में India का space ecosystem एक महत्वपूर्ण scale milestone पर पहुंचा, जहां launch vehicles, satellite platforms, Earth observation, satellite communications, propulsion, electronics, space situational awareness और downstream analytics में 300 से अधिक active space startups ने operations को आगे बढ़ाया। 2025 में private space companies demonstration stage से deployment stage की ओर आगे बढ़ीं। Skyroot Aerospace और Agnikul Cosmos ने private orbital और semi-cryogenic launch systems के development में progress को जारी रखा, जिससे competitive domestic launch market के निर्माण में योगदान दिया गया। Prime Minister Narendra Modi द्वारा हाल ही में Skyroot के Vikram-I launch vehicle और Infinity Campus का unveiling किया गया।
Pixxel ने early और mid-2025 में SpaceX Falcon 9 rockets के माध्यम से Firefly series के तहत India की first private satellite constellation को launch किया। इस mission के दौरान high-resolution Earth imaging के लिए कुल छह hyperspectral satellites को deploy किया गया। Digantara ने अपने first commercial space surveillance satellite SCOT’ को successfully launch कर space situational awareness infrastructure को expand किया। वहीं Bellatrix Aerospace, ThrustWrks, OmSpace, Xovian और GalaxEye जैसी companies ने propulsion, launch subsystems और imaging platforms में operational capabilities को demonstrate किया। Union Budget 2025-26 में National Geospatial Mission, startups के लिए Fund of Funds, enhanced credit guarantee mechanisms, Atal Tinkering Labs का expansion और dedicated DeepTech Fund of Funds जैसी initiatives के माध्यम से policy support को और मजबूत किया गया। FY 2025 के दौरान India की private space startups ने लगभग $150 million की funding को raise किया, जिससे total funding $617 million से अधिक हो गई।
Rs 1,000 crore के IN-SPACe Venture Capital Fund का operationalisation और Rs 1 lakh crore के Research, Development and Innovation Scheme की approval ने space और deep-tech innovation के funding ecosystem को long-term depth प्रदान की। इसके साथ ही, Rs 500 crore का IN-SPACe Technology Adoption Fund startups और MSMEs को commercially viable early-stage space technologies के development के लिए cost के 60 प्रतिशत तक funding प्रदान करेगा, जिससे private sector innovation को boost मिलेगा, Bhatt ने कहा।
