Parliament को सोमवार को बताया गया कि Smart City Mission (SCM) के तहत अब तक 7,741 projects complete हो चुके हैं, जो total projects का 96% है। इन completed projects की total value ₹1,55,386 crore है। वहीं, अभी भी 323 projects ongoing हैं, जिनकी estimated cost ₹9,425 crore बताई गई है (as on December 1, 2025).
📊 Overall Progress | 100 Cities में Massive Execution
Government ने बताया कि Mission के अंतर्गत कुल 8,064 projects undertake किए गए थे, जिनकी combined value ₹1,64,811 crore थी और यह work देश के 100 cities में spread था।
💰 Central Funding Status | Almost Full Utilisation
Union Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs Tokhan Sahu ने Rajya Sabha में बताया कि Central government ने Smart City Mission के लिए ₹48,000 crore का outlay fix किया था।
States और UTs की report के मुताबिक, cities ने अब तक ₹47,458 crore (99%) का Central Financial Assistance claim कर लिया है।
✅ Fund Utilisation | Money on Ground Use
Minister ने यह भी बताया कि claimed amount में से ₹46,093 crore (97%) की राशि actually utilise की जा चुकी है, जिससे ground-level execution strong दिखाई देता है।
🛠️ Development Model | Area-based Approach
Smart City Mission में development एक area-based model पर हुआ, जिसमें retrofitting, redevelopment, greenfield projects और pan-city smart solutions शामिल हैं।
Sectors जैसे mobility, WASH, governance, energy और environment में focused interventions किए गए।
🤖 Technology Push | ICT, IoT और Smart Systems
SCM के तहत Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Internet of Things (IoT) और data-driven systems जैसे ICCCs (Integrated Command and Control Centres) लगाए गए।
Smart mobility, e-governance, smart water supply और waste management systems के जरिए service delivery improve की गई।
🌱 Urban Renewal | Better Cities for Citizens
Mission के अंतर्गत better roads, affordable housing, public spaces, sustainability projects और citizen-centric infrastructure पर investment किया गया, जिससे cities को safer, more efficient और more liveable बनाया जा सके।
🧾 Budget Closure | Mission Officially Closed
Minister ने बताया कि March 31, 2025 को Smart City Mission का financial closure हो चुका है और अब इसके लिए कोई fresh budgetary outlay नहीं है।
📜 Advisory to States | SPVs & ICCCs का Future Plan
June 2025 में Ministry ने States और UTs को एक advisory जारी की, जिसमें future role of Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs) और ICCCs के operation roadmap पर guidance दी गई।
SPVs को निर्देश दिया गया है कि सभी ongoing projects को time-bound तरीके से complete करें और assets के लिए operation & maintenance plans तैयार करें। इसके अलावा SPVs को emerging urban challenges से निपटने के लिए repurpose करने पर भी ज़ोर दिया गया है।
📌 Overall, Smart City Mission ने urban infrastructure में बड़ा transformation किया है, और technology-driven approach से Indian cities को global standards के करीब लाने की कोशिश की गई है।
