Charu Bhatia, Senior News Editor, Business Remedies, in conversation with Mr. Rakshit Singhal, a renowned Vastu Consultant, Founder of Brhmagyaan brand and Brhmagyaan Impex Pvt. Ltd.
From studying Mechanical Engineering at MNIT Jaipur to founding Brhmagyaan brand, Mr. Rakshit Singhal has taken an unconventional path that blends scientific thinking with spiritual wisdom. Through his venture, Brhmagyaan Impex Pvt. Ltd. and Brhmagyaan, he aims to bring greater professionalism, research, and authenticity to the fields of Vastu, occult sciences, and spirituality. In this conversation, he shares his inspiring journey, the challenges of building a niche business, changing perceptions around Vastu, and his vision of creating a globally recognised and trusted Indian spiritual brand.
You own Brhmagyaan brand and Brhmagyaan Impex Pvt. Ltd. How has your journey been, and what inspired you to pursue such an unconventional profession?
My academic journey began in engineering. I completed Mechanical Engineering from Malaviya National Institute of Technology (MNIT), Jaipur, before pursuing management studies at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad. Looking back, my career path may appear unconventional, but every stage of my life has contributed to where I stand today.
During my college years in Jaipur, I went through a difficult phase emotionally. Like many young people, I struggled with stress and entered a period of depression. It was during that phase that I found myself drawn towards spirituality. Initially, I looked at it as a source of inner peace, but as I studied further, I realised spirituality is much more than belief or ritual. It is a discipline that has to be practised and experienced.
The more I explored, the more I found fascinating similarities between spiritual concepts and scientific principles. Many ideas discussed in quantum physics appear to follow patterns that are also described in ancient spiritual texts. This intersection of science and spirituality inspired me to study occult sciences in greater depth.
Eventually, I established Brhmagyaan Impex Pvt. Ltd., under which we created the brand Brhmagyaan. Today, our work revolves around three major pillars, spirituality, occult sciences and religion. Rather than offering generic consultations, our focus has always been on delivering specialised, research-based and personalised services.
Apart from consultancy, we have also built an ecosystem that includes spiritual products such as yoga mats, natural stones, bracelets, incense and other religious items. On the services side, we organise spiritual retreats, sound healing sessions, aura cleansing programmes, Katha Vachan, bhajan jamming events and spiritual tourism experiences. Interestingly, these activities are attracting significant participation from younger generations as well.
Establishing a company in a niche sector must have come with challenges. What were the biggest hurdles you faced?
One of the biggest lessons I have learnt is the importance of following the guidance of a Guru. In spiritual sciences, knowledge is not acquired merely by reading books. It requires years of discipline, practice and proper mentorship.
I have always been deeply fascinated by Sanatan Dharma and its rich knowledge systems. Much of this wisdom already exists in our ancient Vedic scriptures. The real challenge lies in understanding and interpreting it correctly. That is where an experienced Guru becomes indispensable.
Another challenge is the perception of this industry. Unfortunately, many people have turned spiritual practices into purely commercial ventures. The focus often shifts towards earning money instead of genuinely helping people. We wanted to create a company that prioritises authenticity, accountability and quality over volume.
Being recognised as a startup by the Government of India has strengthened our credibility, but our real objective remains unchanged, to provide sincere and high-quality services to every individual who approaches us.
What are some of the biggest misconceptions people have about Vastu?
One of the most common misconceptions is that Vastu is the same for everyone. That is simply not true. Every individual has a unique energy profile, and Vastu recommendations should be customised accordingly.
For instance, many people believe that south-facing properties are always inauspicious. In reality, for certain individuals, depending on their horoscope and energy balance, a south-facing property may actually prove beneficial.
Another issue is that the Vastu sector remains largely unorganised. There are very few trusted brands that people can rely on with confidence. Since Vastu deals with energy, its effects are often subtle and may not always be immediately visible. Therefore, if proper guidance is not provided, customers lose faith not only in the consultant but in the discipline itself.
I believe accountability is extremely important. A professional organisation should stand by its recommendations and work systematically. Formalising the sector will help build trust among people.
How has the demand for Vastu consultancy evolved over the years?
The change has been remarkable. Over the past few years, there has been a significant rise in awareness about occult sciences, spirituality and energy-based practices.
People today are more open to understanding concepts that were once dismissed as superstition. Many now recognise that disciplines such as Vastu, astrology and numerology have structured methodologies and require specialised knowledge.
The younger generation, especially Gen Z, has also shown growing curiosity towards spiritual activities. Programmes like bhajan jamming, meditation sessions and spiritual retreats have become increasingly popular.
Today’s world is highly competitive. People are constantly looking for ways to improve focus, emotional balance and decision-making. Many believe that practices like Vastu and numerology can complement their personal development by influencing their subconscious mindset.
What Vastu principles should businesses and organisations consider while designing modern workplaces?
Workplace Vastu is not limited to aesthetics. It aims to create an environment that supports productivity, creativity and well-being.
However, recommendations vary depending on the nature of the profession. For example, organisations involved in healing or wellness should strengthen the energy of the north and north-east directions. Businesses focused on networking, communication and public interaction may benefit from strengthening the eastern zone.
Certain general principles also apply across workplaces. Kitchens should ideally not be located in the north or north-east direction, and layouts should maintain balanced energy flow throughout the premises.
Broadly speaking, Vastu can be understood through three approaches. Basic Vastu focuses on structural planning and directional balance. Vedic Vastu incorporates remedies involving gemstones and traditional elements. Astro Vastu combines Vastu analysis with an individual’s horoscope or Kundli.
According to traditional beliefs, Vastu becomes most effective when the energies associated with all 45 Vastu Devtas are properly activated and balanced.
What should people keep in mind before buying a property from a Vastu perspective?
The first step is understanding the individual’s Kundli because it helps determine which direction may be most suitable for purchasing a property.
Apart from that, the overall energy of the house should be evaluated. In Vastu philosophy, every property reflects varying proportions of the three Gunas, Sattva, Rajas and Tamas. These energies influence peace of mind, productivity, health and emotional well-being.
There are also practical guidelines. Ideally, there should not be a pillar at the centre of the house. Kitchens and bathrooms should not be located in the north-east direction, and the design should facilitate a smooth flow of positive energy throughout the property.
How has technology transformed the field of Vastu consultancy?
Technology has significantly improved accuracy in Vastu consultations.
Direction is one of the most critical aspects of Vastu, and modern tools such as Google Maps help determine exact orientations with remarkable precision. Even a deviation of two or three degrees can influence recommendations, so accurate digital mapping has become extremely valuable.
Technology also helps in preparing detailed layouts, analysing floor plans and conducting consultations remotely. These advancements have enabled consultants to provide more reliable assessments while maintaining consistency.
Do you think the younger generation views Vastu differently from older generations?
Yes, there has been a noticeable shift.
Earlier generations respected traditional practices but often did not actively seek Vastu consultations for their homes or businesses. Ironically, many historical temples and heritage structures, including several in Jaipur, were built according to Vastu principles, yet public awareness remained limited.
Today’s generation is much more curious. They actively seek information, ask questions and are willing to invest in consultations if they find value in them.
What Vastu trends do you believe will shape the coming decade?
Personalisation will define the future of Vastu. People are increasingly seeking remedies that address specific concerns rather than generic solutions. Relationship counselling through Vastu, health-related remedies, career-focused guidance and evergreen energy corrections are becoming more popular.
Instead of applying identical remedies to everyone, consultants are now moving towards customised recommendations based on the individual’s circumstances, horoscope and environment.
What is your long-term vision for Brhmagyaan?
Our vision is to establish Brhmagyaan as one of India’s most trusted and professionally managed Vastu brands while eventually taking it to the global stage.
We want to create high standards of quality, transparency and accountability in an industry that has traditionally remained fragmented. Even today, much of our growth comes through word-of-mouth recommendations, which reflects the trust people place in our work. Our goal is not simply expansion but creating a lasting institution that delivers authentic services with integrity.
What advice would you give young people who want to build a career in occult sciences?
My first advice is to find a genuine Guru and learn with complete sincerity. Spiritual knowledge cannot be mastered overnight. It requires patience, discipline and years of practical experience.
It is equally important to apply the teachings in your own life before advising others. Personal experience gives authenticity to your guidance.
I would also encourage aspiring professionals to specialise rather than trying to learn every branch of occult science superficially. Whether it is Vastu, astrology, numerology or another discipline, developing deep expertise in one area is far more valuable than having limited knowledge of many.
Finally, remain committed to continuous learning. This is a field where sincerity, humility and dedication matter just as much as technical knowledge. Those qualities ultimately determine long-term success.
