Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) ने एक UK media report को सिरे से खारिज किया है, जिसमें दावा किया गया था कि British retailer Marks & Spencer (M&S) ने cyberattack-related failures के चलते $1 billion contract को खत्म कर दिया है।
TCS ने इस रिपोर्ट को “misleading” और “factually inaccurate” बताया है।

UK newspaper में प्रकाशित एक लेख titled “M&S ousts Indian outsourcer accused of £300m cyberattack failures” ने ये दावा किया कि M&S ने TCS के साथ अपनी बड़ी deal रद्द कर दी है।
TCS के मुताबिक, इसमें contract size, cyberattack connection और project continuity — तीनों को लेकर गलत जानकारी दी गई है।

TCS ने stock exchanges को दी गई स्पष्टीकरण में कहा —
“The report published is misleading, with factual inaccuracies including the size of the contract and the continuity of TCS’ work for Marks & Spencer (M&S).”
कंपनी ने बताया कि M&S का service desk contract जनवरी 2025 से एक routine competitive tender process में था।
M&S ने दूसरे partners के साथ काम करने का फैसला April 2025 के cyber incident से पहले ही कर लिया था।
दोनों बातें “clearly unrelated” हैं, TCS ने जोर देकर कहा।

TCS ने बताया कि यह service desk deal, कंपनी के overall M&S partnership का बहुत छोटा हिस्सा थी।
“TCS continues to work on numerous other areas as a strategic partner for M&S and is proud of this longstanding partnership,” कंपनी ने कहा।

TCS ने यह भी स्पष्ट किया कि उसने अपने systems का complete security scan किया और कोई vulnerability नहीं पाई।
साथ ही, TCS ने कहा कि वह M&S को cybersecurity services प्रदान नहीं करती, यह काम किसी और vendor के पास है।

Reports में कहा गया था कि M&S ने cyberattack के बाद TCS का $1 billion helpdesk deal renew नहीं किया, जिससे retailer को करीब £300 million का नुकसान हुआ।
लेकिन अब दोनों कंपनियों ने पुष्टि की है कि contract decision incident से पहले ही लिया गया था और यह एक normal renewal process का हिस्सा था।
