Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal ने Liechtenstein की firms के entrepreneurs के साथ एक business roundtable आयोजित किया, जिसमें उन्होंने European Free Trade Association यानी EFTA nations द्वारा India में किए गए $100 billion investment commitment से जुड़ी opportunities को explore करने का आग्रह किया। Minister ने कहा कि यह agreement India के लिए long-term economic growth का मजबूत आधार तैयार करता है। Piyush Goyal ने अपने X post में बताया कि India-EFTA Trade and Economic Partnership Agreement (TEPA) केवल एक trade agreement नहीं है, बल्कि यह investment promotion, technology collaboration, skill development और resilient value chains को मजबूत करने वाला एक comprehensive framework है। उन्होंने जोर देकर कहा कि यह partnership India और EFTA nations दोनों के लिए mutual benefit सुनिश्चित करती है।
Precision engineering से financial services तक अवसर
Minister ने कहा कि opportunities कई key sectors में फैली हुई हैं, जिनमें precision engineering, clean energy, smart infrastructure, advanced materials, digital manufacturing और financial services शामिल हैं। उन्होंने Liechtenstein businesses से India को अपने global ambitions के लिए long-term base के रूप में देखने का आग्रह किया। Agreement के तहत European bloc ने 15 वर्षों की अवधि में $100 billion investment का commitment किया है, जिससे India में लगभग 10 lakh direct jobs का creation होने की उम्मीद है। Goyal ने कहा कि यह investment employment generation और industrial capacity building में अहम भूमिका निभाएगा।
Hilti Group के साथ localisation और export growth पर चर्चा
एक अन्य X post में Minister ने Liechtenstein स्थित Hilti Group headquarters के दौरे और उसके CEO Jahangir Doongaji से मुलाकात की जानकारी दी। उन्होंने बताया कि India के construction sector में 25 वर्षों से मौजूद इस group के साथ localisation बढ़ाने, value addition करने और India से global shipments को scale करने पर चर्चा हुई, जो manufacturing और export growth objectives के अनुरूप है। Goyal ने technology collaboration पर भी चर्चा की, जिसका उद्देश्य safer और smarter infrastructure का development है। उन्होंने कहा कि expanding investments, rapid innovation और strong domestic capacity building के जरिए India इस क्षेत्र में global benchmark स्थापित कर सकता है।
Liechtenstein leadership के साथ trade और clean-tech talks
Minister ने इससे पहले Liechtenstein की Deputy Prime Minister और Foreign Minister Sabine Monauni के साथ trade expansion, innovation और clean-tech cooperation पर भी बातचीत की थी। India-EFTA TEPA officially October 2025 में operational हुआ, जिसमें Switzerland, Norway, Iceland और Liechtenstein शामिल हैं। Piyush Goyal ने Brussels में दो-दिवसीय trade talks भी कीं, जिनका उद्देश्य India-EU Free Trade Agreement (FTA) को final stage तक पहुंचाना था। Indian delegation ने textiles, leather, apparel, gems and jewellery और handicrafts जैसे labour-intensive sectors के लिए zero-duty access पर जोर दिया, जिससे exports और रोजगार दोनों को बढ़ावा मिल सके।
