Prime Minister Narendra Modi की dynamic और visionary leadership में development last mile तक पहुँची है, जिससे welfare schemes beneficiaries को directly empower कर रही हैं और grassroots entrepreneurship को strengthen कर रही हैं, Union Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal ने कहा।
उन्होंने कहा कि यह inclusive approach governance को people-centric model में transform कर रही है, जो social upliftment और economic growth दोनों को drive कर रही है। Sonowal यह बात Assam Press Correspondents’ Union (APCU) की 17th Central Mid-Term Conference को Tinsukia में address करते हुए कही। Sonowal ने media की role को democracy के fourth pillar के रूप में reaffirm किया और journalists को society के vigilant sentinels तथा people की authentic voice बताया। उन्होंने कहा कि press freedom of expression को safeguard करने और democratic values को strengthen करने में critical responsibility निभाती है, खासकर rapidly evolving information landscape में।
“Media की role society के conscious watchdog के रूप में immeasurable है। Journalists people की voice बनकर freedom of speech को protect करते हैं और accountability को ensure करते हैं,” Sonowal ने gathering को बताया। Minister ने responsible journalism की need को highlight किया और media professionals से truth, credibility और ethical reporting को priority देने का आग्रह किया। उन्होंने misinformation और sensationalism से resist करने पर भी जोर दिया। Sonowal ने कहा कि journalism government और people के बीच bridge का काम करे, public concerns को amplify करे और social harmony को promote करे।
उन्होंने coordination, dialogue और consensus-building के importance को underline किया और कहा कि media constructive engagement के जरिए society को strengthen कर सकती है, conflict के बजाय। Sonowal ने कहा कि journalists को evolving challenges के बीच continuous capacity building, professional integrity और new technologies के साथ adapt करना होगा, साथ ही public interest journalism में rooted रहना होगा। Earlier, Sonowal ने foundation stone laying और inauguration programme में attend किया, जहाँ उन्होंने Prime Minister की flagship welfare schemes के beneficiaries से interact किया। उन्होंने local entrepreneurs से भी engagement किया और local economy की growth में उनके contribution को acknowledge किया।
