India का biogas sector financial year 2026-27 में ₹5,000 crore से अधिक investment आकर्षित कर सकता है। Indian Biogas Association (IBA) के अनुसार, market में gas की बढ़ती demand और policy support के कारण यह sector तेजी से grow कर रहा है। Government data के मुताबिक, FY 2024-25 के दौरान 94 compressed biogas (CBG) plants ने 31,400 tonnes से ज्यादा CBG sell किया है। यह data sector में growth और market uptake को clearly reflect करता है। IBA ने statement में कहा कि यह trend आने वाले वर्षों में और मजबूत हो सकता है।
New facilities और supply chain पर focus
IBA का मानना है कि आने वाले समय में कई new CBG facilities commission होंगी। Feedstock के लिए organised supply chains develop होंगी और unified policy framework biogas adoption को support करेगा। इससे sector का expansion और faster हो सकता है। Country में मौजूद several million small-scale traditional biogas digesters में efficiency improvement और better capacity utilisation की बड़ी संभावना है। Government programmes medium-sized plants को भी scale up कर रहे हैं, जिससे cleaner cooking fuel, rural employment और organic manure जैसे benefits मिल रहे हैं।
GST relief से investment को boost
IBA Chairman Gaurav Kedia ने कहा कि relaxed GST regime से CBG ecosystem में ease of doing business improve होगा। Applicable GST rate में 7 per cent reduction से project viability मजबूत होगी और short to medium term में new investments लगभग 45 per cent तक increase हो सकते हैं। Industry value chain में इसका multiplier effect और भी बड़ा होगा। CBG एक renewable और green fuel है, जिसे organic waste जैसे farm residue, dung और sewage से produce किया जाता है। Purification और compression के बाद यह Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) जैसा बनता है। यह India की oil import reduction strategy, waste management, emission cut और rural economy strengthening में key role निभा रहा है। SATAT जैसे government schemes इसके production और use को promote कर रहे हैं।
Government incentives और financial support
Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) biogas projects को capital cost का 15–20 per cent तक central financial assistance provide करता है। इसके अलावा, organic fertilisers के offtake को बढ़ाने के लिए ₹1.50 प्रति kilogram marketing development assistance दी जा रही है। Gas grid से plants को connect करने के लिए pipeline laying पर भी incentives available हैं।
