Engineering Export Promotion Council (EEPC India) ने सरकार से आग्रह किया है कि steel और aluminium products, खासकर MSMEs द्वारा बनाए गए items, को India–US bilateral trade discussions में शामिल किया जाए 🔧📦

EEPC ने बताया कि US ने Section 232 के तहत 50% tariff लगाया है, जिससे engineering exports पर बड़ा असर पड़ा है और competitiveness कम हुई है 📉

EEPC Chairman Pankaj Chadha:
“US tariff differential हमारे competitors से औसतन 30% ज्यादा है। अगर सरकार कम से कम 15% का support package देती है, तो exporters US market में अपनी स्थिति मजबूत रख सकते हैं।” 💬

🇪🇺 EU FTA Talks पर भी चिंता | Quota & Tariff Issues

EEPC ने EU के quota घटाने और out-of-quota tariffs को 50% करने के प्रस्ताव को “problematic” बताया ⚠️

• Exporters की volumes को नुकसान

• कुछ key products FTA negotiations से बाहर

EEPC ने कहा कि यह matter FTA talks में शामिल किया जाए, और tariffs को धीरे-धीरे phase out किया जाए ⏳

🔩 MSME-Centric Recommendations

• Stainless Steel Long Products (categories 14, 15, 22) को EU tariff-rate quotas से मुक्त किया जाए 🏭

• Quota volumes बढ़ाई जाएं अन्य categories में

• Out-of-quota tariffs 25% से अधिक न हों, और 5–6 साल में phase out किए जाएं
