Question: You are a doctor of great repute in Jaipur. Please tell us about your journey so far.
Answer: My interest in medicine goes back to my early years. I always aspired to become a doctor. I completed my graduation from SMS Medical College, Jaipur, and later pursued a specialization in Cardiology from Delhi. My exposure and learning at Fortis Escorts Delhi played a defining role in shaping my career. After being selected through a rigorous process by some of the best cardiologists there, I trained extensively in advanced cardiac care. Over the past 23 years, my journey has been guided by the belief that dedication and genuine passion lead to excellence. Currently, I serve as a Senior Cardiologist at Metro Mas Hospital Jaipur, and have been
recognized for my experience and commitment to patient care.

Question: In the last decade, there have been several discussions about gaps and misconceptions in medical science. What are your views on this?
Answer: It’s true that misconceptions about doctors and medical practices are widespread. A common one is that being a doctor is purely a money-making profession, which is far from the truth. Most doctors are deeply committed to their patients’ health and recovery. Another major concern is the lack of awareness about medical insurance, people need to understand its importance in ensuring timely and affordable healthcare. There should also be greater appreciation for the crucial role doctors play in saving lives. Despite challenges, the medical community continues to prioritize patient well-being above all else.

Question: Science has made remarkable progress, and AI has significantly influenced various fields. How do you see AI contributing to the
medical sector?
Answer: In cardiology, the role of AI is still evolving and relatively limited. However, it has immense potential in diagnostics, from detecting early signs of heart disease to improving accuracy in imaging and data interpretation. As technology advances, AI can become a valuable support system for doctors, helping enhance precision and efficiency in patient care.

Question: How do you view the culture of health awareness in Jaipur in recent times?
Answer: Health awareness in Jaipur has improved considerably in recent years. Hospitals and healthcare organizations are conducting frequent awareness camps and programs that educate people about symptoms of various diseases. Many even include CPR training sessions, teaching basic lifesaving techniques like pulse checking and chest compressions. These initiatives have created a positive ripple effect, encouraging more people to take charge of their health and respond promptly in emergencies.

Question: How has cardiac treatment evolved in recent years, and what impact has this had?
Answer: Cardiac treatments have advanced tremendously. Procedures that once required prolonged hospitalization can now be completed within hours, allowing patients to be discharged the same day in many cases. The pace of recovery has improved significantly, and minimally invasive techniques have made surgeries safer and more efficient. Overall, these advancements have greatly enhanced both the patient experience and clinical outcomes.

Question: For our readers, could you share the early signs and symptoms of a cardiac arrest?
Answer: The most classic symptom is chest pain or discomfort. Other early warning signs include unusual fatigue, shortness of breath, and excessive sweating. Recognizing these symptoms early and seeking immediate medical help can make a critical difference in saving lives.

Question: What, in your opinion, explains the growing incidence of diseases among the younger generation?
Answer: Lifestyle changes are the primary factor. Increasing stress levels, irregular sleep patterns, poor diet, and sedentary habits are all contributing to lifestyle diseases among the youth. Post-pandemic, awareness about health has improved, but harmful habits like smoking and excessive drinking continue to take a toll. The key lies in prevention, making mindful lifestyle choices early on.

Question: According to you, what positive role can the government play in improving healthcare delivery?
Answer: The government has well-structured policies at the formulation level, but the challenge lies in implementation. Bureaucratic delays, red tape, and corruption often hinder progress. Streamlining processes, ensuring accountability, and prioritizing transparency could greatly strengthen healthcare systems and make quality medical services more accessible.

Question: Lastly, what advice would you give to young medical aspirants?
Answer: Medicine is a lifelong commitment that demands perseverance and integrity. The journey is long and often challenging, but immensely rewarding. My advice is to stay focused, work hard, and never lose sight of the purpose – to serve humanity with compassion and dedication.
