Business Remedies | Rajshree Upadhyaya | When the desire to create loungewear and intimate clothing arose, colleagues Shanky Lyal and Avinash Sharma launched Shararat and carved out a name for themselves. They decided to build a business that celebrates comfort, romance, and everyday fun – not just formal fashion. The brand’s products were stylish as well as comfortable. They trace the brand’s roots back to 2016, when they began experimenting with D2C sales on online marketplaces. From the very beginning, the company’s tone was intentionally fun, bold, and customer-focused, with a product line ranging from nightwear and honeymoon collections to intimate wear designed for gifting and special occasions.

Formalizing that initial experiment, the business was incorporated in 2018 as Shararat Ventures Private Limited. It was officially registered at the end of May 2018, transforming it from an informal D2C project into a structured private limited entity operating out of Delhi-NCR. This step helped the founders scale up inventory, manage vendor relationships, and strengthen their online presence.

Focus on Affordable, Fun Collections for Young Couples and Gifting Occasions
Growth continued, thanks to rising online traction and a unique positioning that prioritized romance and gifting over basic everyday essentials. The brand built a strong digital footprint with its own e-commerce site, social media storefront, and listings on major marketplaces like Amazon – all helping expand distribution beyond the initial customer base.

Startup trackers and business profiles list Shararat as a small but revenue-generating D2C company focused on bedroom fashion and intimate gifting. The brand’s public story and product range emphasize affordable and fun collections tailored for young couples and gifting needs.
When Shararat appeared on Shark Tank India, the company was seeking external capital to accelerate growth and expand reach. On the show, the founders asked for Rs. 60 lakh in exchange for 2% equity – a bold valuation that drew attention. Despite good appreciation for the brand’s creativity, the Sharks hesitated over valuation and scalability concerns, so no deal materialized. Shararat did not secure investment on Shark Tank India.

Active in Government Records and Online Platforms
Today, the company remains active both in government filings and online platforms. Corporate records confirm Shararat Ventures Private Limited is operational, while the brand maintains an active website, social media presence, and marketplace listings – all reflecting ongoing business activity.

The founders continue to grow the brand in India’s competitive intimate and nightwear segment, balancing creativity with sustainable business goals. The story of Shararat shows how a personal idea can evolve into a registered company with a distinct identity and a national audience. Their Shark Tank experience gave the founders visibility, valuable feedback, and deep insight into investor expectations. Even without funding, Shararat continues to make its mark in India’s D2C landscape – proving that sometimes, a playful idea can transform into a serious brand.
