Business Remedies | Rajshree Upadhyaya | In December 2020, three young entrepreneurs-Sangram Patil, Savan Oswal, and Nilesh Pasalkar-embarked on a journey to redefine India’s coffee culture. Amidst the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, they founded Kiosk Kaffee in Pune, aiming to offer premium coffee at affordable prices. Their vision was clear: to make high-quality coffee accessible to everyone, whether they were students, professionals, or coffee enthusiasts.
The trio, with backgrounds in engineering and experience in the IT sector, identified a gap in the market for quality coffee that didn’t break the bank. They introduced a kiosk-based model that allowed them to serve freshly brewed coffee in a compact, efficient setup. This model not only reduced overhead costs but also made their outlets easily accessible in high-footfall areas.
Kiosk Kaffee’s offerings were diverse, catering to various tastes and preferences. From classic espresso-based drinks to innovative options like Tiramisu coffee and vegan milkshakes, their menu was designed to appeal to a wide audience. They sourced their coffee beans ethically, ensuring quality and sustainability in every cup.
Their approach resonated with many, leading to rapid expansion. Within a short span, Kiosk Kaffee grew to over 70 outlets across India, becoming one of the fastest-growing coffee chains in the country. Their success was a testament to the effectiveness of their business model and the demand for quality coffee at affordable prices.
In 2023, Kiosk Kaffee gained national attention by appearing on Season 3 of Shark Tank India. The founders pitched their business, seeking an investment of Rs. 90 lakhs for a 3% equity stake, valuing the company at Rs. 30 crore. Despite the sharks being impressed with their growth and potential, no deal was finalized during the show. However, the exposure provided a significant boost to their brand visibility.
Following their appearance on Shark Tank India, Kiosk Kaffee continued to thrive. They expanded their presence further, reaching more cities and establishing a strong brand identity. Their commitment to quality, affordability, and innovation kept them ahead in the competitive coffee industry.
As of October 2025, Kiosk Kaffee remains operational and continues to serve its customers with the same passion and dedication that fueled its inception. The company’s journey from a startup to a recognized brand is a testament to the founders’ vision, resilience, and ability to adapt to changing market dynamics.
In conclusion, Kiosk Kaffee’s story is one of determination, innovation, and success. From its humble beginnings in Pune to becoming a prominent name in India’s coffee industry, the brand has proven that with the right vision and execution, even the most challenging circumstances can lead to remarkable achievements.
