India’s Paints Industry 2030 तक $16.5 Billion पहुंचने की राह पर

New Delhi : India की paints और coatings industry 2030 तक मजबूत growth दिखाने वाली है। एक report के अनुसार यह sector 9.4 per cent CAGR से grow करते हुए 2024 के $9.6 billion से बढ़कर अगले पांच साल में करीब $16.5 billion तक पहुंचने का अनुमान रखता है। इस growth को rapid urbanisation, rising disposable income, continuous infrastructure development और housing construction expansion से support मिल रहा है।Rubix Data Sciences की report में कहा गया कि India का world का third-largest automobile market होना और अगले पांच साल में top position हासिल करने का target, automotive और industrial coatings के लिए demand को और बढ़ा रहा है। इसके साथ ही central government की housing schemes जैसे Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Urban और Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Gramin, industry growth के major drivers बनकर उभर रही हैं।

Competition, Margin Pressure और Structural Challenges
Report के अनुसार FY25 industry के लिए turning point साबित हुआ, जहां competitive pressure, margin stress और value chain में structural challenges सामने आए। Leading paint manufacturers को compressed margins, softer urban demand और price-based competition का सामना करना पड़ा, क्योंकि consumers value offerings की ओर shift करने लगे।Aggressive discounting और higher dealer incentives ने profitability पर असर डाला, जिससे historically stable और brand-led market अब ज्यादा contested competitive environment में बदलती दिखी। Smaller players, जिनमें करीब 3,000 unorganised manufacturers शामिल हैं, rising compliance cost, limited R&D investment, weak marketing और distribution budget के कारण survival struggle झेलते नजर आए।

Industry में new entrants की entry और larger players का consolidation भी देखा गया। FY26 की first half में paints imports $219 million तक पहुंचे, जो exports $61 million से 3.3 times ज्यादा रहे। India mainly developing markets को paints export करता है, जबकि advanced coatings और critical raw materials जैसे titanium dioxide और specialised resins developed economies से import करता है।Data के अनुसार solvent-based products exports का 84 per cent और imports का 75 per cent हिस्सा बने रहे, जिन्हें industrial और automotive demand का support मिला। वहीं eco-friendly, low-VOC और high-performance coatings की ओर shift, advanced materials और nanotechnology के adoption के साथ, आने वाले समय में product portfolios और competitive strategies को redefine करने की उम्मीद है।
