India hospital sector अगले 3–5 years में strong और sustained growth की दिशा में आगे बढ़ रहा है। एक नई report के अनुसार, hospital industry की revenue growth annually करीब 11–12 प्रतिशत रहने की संभावना है।
Healthcare Demand और Investment से Growth को Support
Report के मुताबिक, इस growth को rising healthcare needs, higher insurance coverage, increasing medical tourism और fresh infrastructure investment support कर रहे हैं। CareEdge Ratings द्वारा compile किए गए data में बताया गया है कि hospital infrastructure में नए projects sector को मजबूती देंगे। India में healthcare infrastructure की long-standing shortage इस positive outlook का बड़ा कारण है। World population का करीब 18 प्रतिशत हिस्सा India में रहता है, लेकिन यहां प्रति 10,000 population पर सिर्फ 16 hospital beds उपलब्ध हैं। World Health Organisation की recommendation 30 beds की है, जिसके मुकाबले India में करीब 20 lakh hospital beds की shortage बनी हुई है। इससे future में new hospitals और healthcare facilities की long-term demand साफ दिखाई देती है। Report में urban और rural healthcare availability के बीच sharp imbalance को highlight किया गया है। करीब 65–70 प्रतिशत hospital beds urban areas में हैं, जबकि India की लगभग दो-तिहाई population rural और semi-urban areas में रहती है। Government healthcare spending GDP का लगभग 2–4 प्रतिशत ही है। ऐसे में private sector इस gap को fill करने में major role निभाएगा। आने वाले वर्षों में private hospital chains healthcare demand बढ़ने से सबसे ज्यादा benefit लेने वाले हैं।
Demographic Change और Insurance Coverage से Momentum
Demographic change भी sector को momentum दे रहा है। Ageing population के कारण chronic illness treatment, preventive healthcare और specialised medical services की demand बढ़ रही है। Health insurance coverage 2014 में करीब 20 crore population से बढ़कर 2024 में लगभग 55 crore तक पहुंच चुकी है। हालांकि, अभी भी सिर्फ करीब 40 प्रतिशत population insured है। CareEdge Ratings के अनुसार, FY30 तक insurance penetration बढ़कर 47–50 प्रतिशत हो सकती है। Ayushman Bharat scheme, rising health awareness और easy digital enrolment इस growth को support करेंगे। इससे hospital admission और organised healthcare providers की demand और मजबूत होने की संभावना है।
