Government ने steel imports को आसान बनाने के लिए नए नियम लागू किए

केंद्र ने स्टील आयात पर नियमों को सरल बनाने और Ease of Doing Business को बढ़ावा देने के लिए नए उपायों की घोषणा की।
The Ministry of Steel reviewed existing import requirements and decided to ease rules for steel grades not covered under any Quality Control Orders (QCOs).

📜 No NOC Required for Non-QCO Grades

High-Level Committee on Non-Financial Regulatory Reforms (HLC-NFRR) की सिफारिश के आधार पर, अब Non-QCO स्टील ग्रेड्स के लिए Ministry of Steel से clarification या NOC लेने की जरूरत नहीं होगी।
All such grades have been mapped on the Steel Import Monitoring System (SIMS) Portal, allowing importers to generate SIMS numbers directly.

🏗️ QCO-Covered Grades Still Regulated

जो स्टील QCO के तहत आता है, उसे सिर्फ BIS लाइसेंसधारी निर्माताओं से ही आयात किया जा सकता है।
For imports from non-BIS licensee units, a Committee constituted on May 14, 2020 will continue to examine exemption applications.

📆 Extended Exemptions for Specific Imports

केंद्र ने पहले जो Chapter 73 steel products के लिए QCO exemptions दी थीं, उन्हें अब 31 मार्च 2026 तक बढ़ा दिया गया है।
Similarly, exemptions for stainless steel flat products IS 6911, IS 5522, IS 15997 are now extended to imports with Bill of Lading shipped on or before 31.03.2026.
