Digital platforms are connecting farmers directly with buyers, improving transparency and enabling faster movement of agricultural produce from farms to markets. Government initiatives are playing an equally important role in boosting the sector. Schemes supporting agricultural infrastructure development, expansion of food processing facilities, dedicated freight corridors and integrated logistics parks are creating a more efficient ecosystem for the movement of farm produce. These initiatives are expected to strengthen rural connectivity and improve market access for farmers across the country.
The rise in agricultural exports is creating another growth opportunity. As international buyers demand higher quality standards and faster deliveries, exporters are investing in specialised packaging, pre-cooling facilities and multimodal logistics solutions. Better logistics infrastructure is enabling Indian agricultural products to reach overseas markets while maintaining freshness and quality. Looking ahead, agri logistics is expected to remain a high-growth infrastructure segment as India’s agricultural value chain becomes increasingly organised and technology-driven. With rising investments, policy support and growing consumer demand for fresh and processed food, the sector is evolving from a traditional transportation network into a strategic growth engine.
