Rajshree Upadhyaya | Business Remedies | Abbas Gabajiwala established Blix Education with the vision of familiarising children with science and technology through toys, carving out a unique identity for the brand. Observing a major gap in the existing system, he gradually shifted the brand’s focus. Traditional education methods often placed greater emphasis on theory rather than application, distancing students from real-world problem-solving. To address this gap, Blix designed products that encourage children to build, experiment, and discover concepts on their own.

Blix Education is the result of a deep-rooted legacy in toy-making, combined with a modern vision of experiential learning. The brand was founded by Abbas Gabajiwala, who grew up in Mumbai in a family that had been designing and manufacturing toys for several generations. Being surrounded from a young age by workshops, mechanical parts, and creative play helped shape his understanding that toys could be much more than mere sources of entertainment. Over time, this belief evolved into a larger purpose-to use play as a tool to make learning simple, engaging, and impactful for children.

Blix Education Private Limited was officially established in 2014, marking the formal beginning of the company’s journey. In its early years, the focus was on creating and experimenting with traditional toys. At its core, Blix offers a wide range of STEM and robotics kits, engineering and construction toys, and hands-on learning modules that blend creativity with structured learning.

Established as an education-driven company
These products allow children to explore concepts such as mechanics, electronics, motion, and basic coding through physical interaction rather than passive instruction. Over time, Blix expanded beyond home-use toys and began collaborating with educational institutions. The company developed school-focused STEM learning solutions that integrate structured kits, curriculum support, and teacher training. This evolution positioned Blix not just as a toy brand, but as an education-driven company aligned with future-ready skills.

Blix gained national attention when Abbas Gabajiwala appeared on Shark Tank India Season 3. During his pitch, he presented Blix as a brand focused on transforming how children learn science and technology through play. He sought an investment of Rs. 80 lakh for 2 percent equity, valuing the company at Rs. 40 crore. The pitch stood out for its clarity of purpose and strong product-market fit, especially in a country where hands-on STEM education is gaining increasing importance. After discussions, Abbas closed a deal with Aman Gupta and Ritesh Agarwal for Rs. 80 lakh in exchange for 4 percent equity, bringing not only capital but also strategic guidance and industry credibility.

Strengthening the commitment to experiential learning
Following Shark Tank, Blix continued to strengthen its presence across both consumer and institutional segments. The company expanded its range of robotics kits, interactive STEM toys, and school learning ecosystems, reaching thousands of schools across India. Through initiatives such as structured STEM labs and robotics competitions nationwide, Blix further reinforced its commitment to experiential learning. These efforts have helped build an ecosystem where students can apply theoretical knowledge in practical and engaging ways, fostering curiosity and confidence from an early age.

Today, Blix Education is fully operational and actively growing. The company continues to design, manufacture, and distribute educational products in collaboration with schools, teachers, and learning communities. Its sustained operations, expanding school partnerships, and continuous product innovation demonstrate how Blix has successfully evolved from a family toy legacy into a purpose-driven education brand.
The story of Blix is not merely one of change, but of growth. By reimagining toys as learning tools and connecting play with problem-solving, Abbas Gabajiwala has built a brand that reflects both heritage and forward thinking. In doing so, Blix has carved a strong place within India’s growing education and STEM learning landscape-proving that even the simplest act of play can inspire a lifetime of learning.
