Founded in 2022 by Vikram Labhe, Bhalchandra Patil, and Dr. Vineeta Phatak, Melooha was born from a shared vision to bring structure, credibility, and scientific reasoning to a field often criticized for being vague or superstitious. The app uses birth details, date, time, and location, to generate insights into a user’s career, relationships, health, and personal development. What makes it stand out is not just the traditional astrological backbone but the way it applies AI to interpret charts with data-driven precision. Today, it is available on Android and iOS and serves users across over 175 countries.

The idea behind Melooha was sparked by Vikram Labhe’s own experiences, which led him to see value in astrology and also recognize the need for transparency and accuracy. With an MBA from IIM Bangalore and tech credentials from Simon Fraser University, Vikram teamed up with Bhalchandra Patil, a seasoned technologist, to bring AI into the fold. Dr. Vineeta Phatak, a Ph.D. in Vedic astrology, completed the trio, ensuring the platform was grounded in authentic astrological principles. Together, they imagined a service that would simplify astrology, make it accessible to a modern global audience, and remove fear-driven narratives.

In March 2024, Melooha took a bold step by appearing on Shark Tank India Season 3, seeking Rs. 80 lakhs for 2% equity. The pitch emphasized their AI-first model and the global potential of their product. While the sharks appreciated the innovation, they didn’t invest. Aman Gupta cited disbelief in astrology, Vineeta Singh raised concerns about scalability, and Deepinder Goyal felt the responses lacked clarity. Still, the televised pitch offered something more valuable than funding: visibility. Post-show, the app experienced a dramatic surge in traffic, overwhelming its servers and crashing payment gateways. Yet, this chaos proved to be a turning point. Downloads, user engagement, and paid subscriptions rose sharply, expanding Melooha’s footprint worldwide.

Soon after, Melooha made a strategic move by acquiring Munitalks, a generative AI startup specializing in multilingual astrological consultations. The acquisition enabled support for over 80 languages and enhanced Melooha’s ability to break down complex queries, making the platform even more inclusive. This also aligned with the company’s mission to democratize astrology for users across cultural and linguistic boundaries. It became clear that Melooha was no longer just a startup with an interesting idea, it was becoming a serious player in the growing astrotech space.

With a funding round of Rs. 5.3 crore led by Streak Ventures LLC and other angels, Melooha began investing heavily in its AI infrastructure, marketing efforts, and product enhancements. The platform operates in a market expected to grow to Rs. 50,000 crore by 2025, and it’s positioning itself to capture a significant slice. Reinforcing its technical foundation, the company brought on Tejesh Murthy in 2025 as Chief Architect. With more than two decades of experience in B2C tech, AI, and DevOps, Tejesh is helping build the infrastructure to support Melooha’s long-term scale and reliability.

The app now offers features like daily personalized forecasts, relationship compatibility checks, real-time Q&A with 30-second response times, and multilingual access, all powered by AI and rooted in Vedic knowledge. Melooha’s goal isn’t to predict fates but to help users better understand themselves and make informed life decisions. By presenting astrology as a tool for self-awareness rather than superstition, it’s changing perceptions and reshaping how people engage with this ancient science.
Even without a Shark Tank deal, Melooha has emerged stronger and more focused. It’s carving a unique space where tradition meets technology, offering a fresh take on astrology that is rational, inclusive, and truly global.
