U.S. Jury ने OLED Patent Infringement केस में ₹1,600 करोड़ का Damages Order किया

Samsung Electronics ने Tuesday को कहा कि वो U.S. federal jury के verdict के खिलाफ appeal करेगी। Jury ने कंपनी को $191.4 million (लगभग ₹1,600 करोड़) का damages देने का order दिया है। ये मामला OLED (Organic Light-Emitting Diode) display patents के alleged infringement से जुड़ा है, जो Irish display firm Pictiva Displays के पास हैं।

⚖️ Texas Court का फैसला

ये verdict Monday (U.S. time) को Marshall, Texas में सुनाया गया। Jury ने पाया कि Samsung के smartphones, TVs, computers और wearable devices ने Pictiva के दो OLED-related patents का infringement किया है।

Samsung ने इन allegations को deny करते हुए कहा,

“We intend to appeal the jury’s verdict that has ruled that the two patents were infringed upon.”

कंपनी ने ये भी बताया कि वो U.S. Patent and Trademark Office में इन patents की validity को challenge करने के लिए एक separate case pursue कर रही है।

ये lawsuit 2023 में file हुआ था, और Texas को U.S. में एक major state माना जाता है जहाँ corporate intellectual property disputes handle किए जाते हैं।

💸 Another Big Blow: $445.5 Million Verdict

पिछले महीने भी एक U.S. federal jury ने Samsung Electronics को $445.5 million (लगभग ₹3,700 करोड़) का damages देने का order दिया था।
उस मामले में jury ने पाया कि Samsung ने American firm Collision Communications के wireless network technology patents का उल्लंघन किया है।

📡 Collision Communications की Complaint

Collision Communications, जो New Hampshire में based है, wireless network efficiency technologies में specialize करती है।
कंपनी ने 2023 में Samsung के खिलाफ case file किया था, यह दावा करते हुए कि Samsung के Galaxy smartphones और wireless-enabled notebook computers ने उसकी proprietary technology का unauthorized use किया।
