The Journey of Beautywise’s Founders, Anousha and Shreyansh Chauhan

Identifying the gap between traditional cosmetics and clinically supported wellness solutions and building a distinctive brand

Rajshree Upadhyaya | Business Remedies | Recognising the gap between traditional cosmetics and clinically supported wellness solutions, sibling duo Anousha and Shreyansh Chauhan founded Beautywise in 2021 and established a strong identity in the market. They firmly believed that beauty results cannot depend solely on topical products and need internal support as well. At a time when Indian consumers were becoming more ingredient-conscious and increasingly focused on results, Beautywise was conceptualised as a science-led brand. The idea was to bridge this gap through ingestible beauty supplements backed by nutraceutical research, while keeping them accessible to everyday consumers.

From its early days, the brand positioned itself strongly at the intersection of dermatology and wellness. Instead of launching a wide range of products, Beautywise focused on carefully formulated offerings made with clinically studied ingredients. Its initial portfolio revolved around skin health, hair strength and overall body wellness, leading to products such as Advanced Marine Collagen, Skin Brilliance, Hair Rescue and Body Shape Pro. These formulations included ingredients like marine collagen, biotin, hyaluronic acid, antioxidants and plant extracts, aligning the brand more closely with dermatologist-recommended approaches rather than cosmetic trends.

As Beautywise began gaining popularity, the founders made a strategic decision to avoid becoming a purely digital brand. Along with online marketplaces, they invested heavily in offline credibility by partnering with dermatology clinics, aesthetic centres and premium pharmacies. This move helped Beautywise earn trust within the medical and professional community, with an increasing number of dermatologists and cosmetologists recommending its products to patients seeking long-term solutions rather than quick fixes. Over time, this clinic-first approach emerged as one of the company’s strongest differentiators in an increasingly crowded beauty market.

Strengthening brand visibility across the country
The brand’s steady momentum was reflected in its early funding journey. In 2024, Beautywise raised Rs. 6.5 crore in a seed funding round led by AC Ventures, with participation from angel investors. The capital was deployed to enhance product research, strengthen the core team and expand distribution across India. This phase marked Beautywise’s transition from an emerging startup to a structured growth-stage company with a clear positioning and defined goals.

A key turning point in the Beautywise story came with its appearance on Shark Tank India Season 4, where Anousha and Shreyansh Chauhan presented the brand to a nationwide audience. Their pitch highlighted strong revenues, professional endorsements and rapidly growing offline presence. While the sharks questioned claims and scalability, the brand’s fundamentals generated significant interest. Eventually, the founders secured an investment of Rs. 3 crore from Aman Gupta in exchange for 6 percent equity-a deal that validated the business model and significantly boosted the brand’s national visibility.

Continuing focus on sustainable growth
Post the show, Beautywise accelerated its expansion plans. The funding and exposure enabled the company to strengthen its field force, widen its retail reach and further invest in research-driven product development. The brand also began exploring international opportunities, particularly in the GCC markets, where demand for dermatologist-supported beauty supplements is rising. Simultaneously, Beautywise continued to expand its domestic footprint through organised pharmacy chains and premium wellness outlets.

Today, Beautywise is fully operational and actively scaling. The company has reported strong annual revenues and continues to prioritise sustainable growth over rapid category expansion. By staying committed to clinically aligned formulations and a hybrid online-offline strategy, Beautywise has successfully carved out a distinct position within India’s beauty and wellness ecosystem. What began in 2021 as a focused effort to redefine beauty nutrition has evolved into a recognised brand that continues to build long-term credibility in a highly competitive market.
