Both founders had seen firsthand how technical hiring was slow, resource-heavy, and often inefficient, with companies taking more than a month to close a single role while candidates dropped off due to delays. In 2019, driven by the belief that technology could simplify this broken process, they decided to build a solution that could dramatically reduce hiring timelines without compromising on the quality of evaluation.

From the beginning, Intervue was designed as a technology-first hiring platform that combined automation with expert human judgment. The founders focused on solving a core bottleneck in recruitment: the availability of skilled interviewers and the lack of structured, unbiased technical assessments. Their answer was a platform that enabled companies to conduct remote technical interviews, live coding assessments, and video-based evaluations in a standardized and scalable manner. By offering Interview as a Service, Intervue allowed startups and enterprises to outsource technical interviews to trained engineers while maintaining full visibility and control over the hiring process.

As the product matured, Intervue began attracting early interest from the startup ecosystem. In 2021, the company raised seed funding from notable investors including Titan Capital, Kunal Shah, and 2AM VC, which helped strengthen its technology stack and expand its interviewer network. The platform evolved to include collaborative coding environments, structured scorecards, interview recordings, and scheduling automation, all aimed at reducing bias and speeding up hiring decisions. Companies using Intervue were able to compress hiring cycles from several weeks to as little as seven days, a significant advantage in competitive tech talent markets.

Intervue’s journey entered the national spotlight when Rahul Arora and Pushpender Singh Rautela appeared on Shark Tank India Season 3. They pitched their vision of transforming technical hiring and sought an investment of Rs. 1.5 crore for 1 percent equity, valuing the company at Rs. 150 crore. During the pitch, the founders shared that the platform was already being used by more than 100 companies and was facilitating hundreds of interviews daily. A memorable moment on the show came when Deepinder Goyal realised that his own company was already using Intervue’s services, validating the real-world relevance of the product.

The negotiation on Shark Tank was intense, with sharks questioning the valuation while acknowledging the strength of the business model and execution. Eventually, Aman Gupta made an offer of Rs. 1.5 crore for 2 percent equity, valuing Intervue at Rs. 75 crore, which the founders accepted on the show. While, as with many Shark Tank deals, the investment process extended beyond the televised episode, the appearance significantly boosted Intervue’s visibility and credibility in the market.

What sets Intervue apart is its hybrid approach to hiring. Instead of relying purely on automated tests or internal panels, the platform leverages a curated network of experienced engineers who conduct interviews using Intervue’s tools. This model ensures consistency in evaluation while freeing companies from the burden of allocating internal engineering time to interviews. The company’s technical interview outsourcing, coding interview infrastructure, and remote assessment tools collectively address a persistent pain point for fast-growing tech teams.

As of now, Intervue is operational and continues to function as a privately held HR-tech company based in Bengaluru. The startup remains active in serving enterprises and startups looking to scale their hiring efficiently in an increasingly remote-first world. Intervue’s story reflects how a problem deeply understood by its founders, when combined with focused execution and technology, can evolve into a scalable business that reshapes an entire function like technical recruitment.
