Maruti launches safer Grand Vitara

Shruti Kothari | Jaipur | Business Remedies | Maruti Suzuki has officially launched the Grand Vitara, marking its entry into the competitive mid-size SUV segment. The Grand Vitara is available in six variants: Sigma, Delta, Zeta, Zeta+, Alpha, and Alpha+. Notably, the SUV comes equipped with six airbags as standard across all variants, underscoring Maruti Suzuki’s commitment to enhanced safety features. The company’s Managing Director and CEO, Hisashi Takeuchi, stated that Maruti Suzuki is working towards making six airbags standard on some models, reflecting a commitment to improved safety standards.

Key features
l Safety: In addition to the six airbags, the Grand Vitara includes Electronic Stability Program (ESP) with hill hold assist, three-point seat belts for all seats, ABS with EBD, and a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). Hill descent control is available in the ALLGRIP SELECT variant.

l Powertrain options:
v 1.5-litre Intelligent Electric Hybrid: This engine features a dual power system combining an internal combustion engine and an electric motor, delivering a combined output of 114bhp. It is paired with an e-CVT unit and offers multiple drive modes, including EV, Eco, Power, and Normal.
v 1.5-litre Progressive Smart Hybrid: This engine is available with either a five-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission.
l Interior & technology: The Grand Vitara boasts a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, automatic climate control, connected car technology, ambient lighting, a panoramic sunroof, and cruise control.
l Exterior Design: The SUV features muscular wheel arches, sweeping shoulders, and R17 precision-cut alloy wheels. Lighting elements include three-element LED DRLs with integrated turn lamps at the front and three-element sweeping LED tail lamps at the rear.
