महाराष्ट्र में civic elections के चलते Indian stock markets गुरुवार को बंद रहे। Maharashtra government द्वारा 15 जनवरी को public holiday घोषित किए जाने के बाद यह फैसला लागू हुआ, ताकि municipal corporation elections का smooth conduct सुनिश्चित किया जा सके। Earlier notification में BSE ने कहा कि equity segment, equity derivatives, commodity derivatives और electronic gold receipts में trading नहीं होगी। Exchange ने यह भी स्पष्ट किया कि जो equity derivative contracts पहले 15 जनवरी 2026 को expire होने वाले थे, वे एक दिन पहले expire किए गए। इन बदलावों को end-of-day contract master files में reflect किया गया। NSE ने भी जानकारी दी कि 15 जनवरी को capital market और futures and options segments दोनों में trading holiday रहेगा।
Maharashtra elections और market impact
यह निर्णय Maharashtra में 29 municipal corporations, जिनमें Mumbai की Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) भी शामिल है, के elections को ध्यान में रखते हुए लिया गया। Authorities का उद्देश्य election process को बिना किसी disruption के पूरा करना रहा। BSE और NSE में trading शुक्रवार से फिर से शुरू होगी। Wednesday को domestic stock markets ने highly volatile trading session के बाद lower close किया। IT और realty stocks में losses के कारण investor sentiment पर दबाव रहा। Global geopolitical tensions और US-India trade deal को लेकर uncertainty ने भी market recovery को सीमित रखा।
Sensex 0.29 प्रतिशत या 244.98 points गिरकर 83,382.71 पर close हुआ, जबकि Nifty 0.26 प्रतिशत या 66.70 points की गिरावट के साथ 25,665.60 पर settle हुआ। Frontline indices की तुलना में broader markets ने बेहतर performance दिखाया। Nifty SmallCap 100 index 0.67 प्रतिशत बढ़ा, जबकि Nifty MidCap 100 index 0.29 प्रतिशत की तेजी के साथ बंद हुआ। Sectoral front पर IT और realty stocks में selling pressure बना रहा। Nifty IT index 1.08 प्रतिशत गिरा और Nifty Realty index में 0.92 प्रतिशत की decline दर्ज की गई।
Investor sentiment और analyst view
Market sentiment पर लगातार foreign institutional selling और geopolitical व trade-related uncertainties का असर बना रहा, जिससे overall risk appetite subdued रहा। Analysts के अनुसार, key support levels के आसपास शुरुआती optimism और trade discussions में progress के संकेत जरूर मिले, लेकिन sustained follow-through की कमी और broader macro uncertainty के कारण cautious और stock-specific trading environment बना रहा।
