India-Oman Free Trade Agreement से आर्थिक सहयोग को बढ़ावा मिलेगा

नई दिल्ली, 18 दिसंबर (IANS) – प्रस्तावित India-Oman Free Trade Agreement (FTA) भारत और Gulf region के बीच आर्थिक संबंधों को गहरा करने में एक बड़ा कदम साबित होगा। यह Oman का दूसरा FTA होगा किसी individual country के साथ और लगभग 20 साल में पहला FTA है। इस agreement से market access बढ़ेगा, investments को प्रोत्साहन मिलेगा, और मुख्य sectors में cooperation मजबूत होगा। यह FTA global economic realignment के समय trade diversification और supply chain resilience को support करेगा।

Indian Investments in Oman

2020 से Indian investments Oman में तीन गुना से अधिक बढ़कर $5 billion हो गए हैं, जो green steel, green ammonia, aluminium manufacturing और logistics sectors में फैले हैं। ये investments भारत के Oman में long-term operating base पर भरोसा दर्शाते हैं। दोनों देशों के बीच FTA bilateral relationship में एक defining milestone साबित होगा। पिछले कुछ सालों में India ने कई FTAs sign किए हैं, जो हमारे farmers, traders और exporters के लिए लाभकारी साबित हो रहे हैं।

Other Key FTAs

• CETA with UK (2023): 90% traded goods पर tariffs कम होंगे और bilateral trade बढ़ेगा।

• EFTA with Switzerland, Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein (2024): India में strong investment commitments।

• ECTA with Australia (2022): ज्यादातर traded goods पर tariffs eliminate और Indian exports के लिए नए अवसर।

• CEPA with UAE (2022): 90% Indian exports पर tariffs घटाए गए, gems, jewellery, textiles, leather, और engineering goods में trade boost।

• Trade pact with Mauritius (2021): Africa market access improved, Mauritius को Africa gateway बनाया।

यह expanding network India की foresighted trade strategy को दर्शाता है, जो diversification, resilience और mutually beneficial growth पर focus करती है।

Opportunities Across Sectors

Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal ने Wednesday को कहा कि प्रस्तावित FTA textiles, food processing, automobiles, gems and jewellery, agrochemicals, renewable energy और auto components sectors में significant opportunities खोलेगा। Muscat में India-Oman Business Forum को address करते हुए, Goyal ने Oman की strategic location को highlight किया, जो GCC, Eastern Europe, Central Asia और Africa markets तक enhanced access प्रदान करती है।
