Shruti Kothari | Jaipur | Business Remedies | BMW is all set to launch the updated 2 Series Gran Coupe in India by mid-2025, following its global debut in late 2024. The new-gen model gets a sporty makeover, upgraded tech, and powerful engine options, targeting young luxury car buyers.
Design-wise, the 2025 model sports a flatter kidney grille, sleeker LED headlights, a sculpted bumper, and redesigned taillights. The M235 xDrive variant also flaunts quad exhaust tips, giving it an athletic edge. It retains its compact proportions with a 2,670 mm wheelbase, but the design language feels sharper and more premium.
Under the hood, BMW is expected to offer two options in India:
l 220 M Sport Gran Coupe with a 1.5L 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine (170 bhp, 280 Nm), paired with a 48V mild-hybrid system.
l M235 xDrive Gran Coupe, packing a punch with a 2.0L turbocharged engine (300 bhp, 400 Nm), AWD, and 0-100 km/h in 4.9 seconds.
Both variants use a 7-speed dual-clutch Steptronic transmission, and the adaptive M suspension ensures dynamic performance.
The cabin is future-ready with BMW’s Curved Display setup, running Operating System 9. Expect wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, ambient lighting, premium upholstery options (including leather-free trims), and optional features like a panoramic sunroof and Harman Kardon sound system.
Safety-wise, the car offers advanced driver assists like lane departure warning, pedestrian detection, active cruise control, and remote parking via the My BMW app.
Bookings have begun, with deliveries expected to start by March 2025. Prices are likely to begin around Rs. 43.90 lakh (ex-showroom), depending on variant and customizations.
