Jaipur| Rajshree Upadhyaya | Business Remedies |  Dr. Pradeep Kumar Sundarraj has established himself by launching the deep-tech startup Kelvin6K using automation and advanced manufacturing technologies. His journey began in 2020 in Chennai, when he decided to challenge one of the world’s most traditional and slow-moving industries-construction. With a strong background in robotics and engineering research, he envisioned a future where buildings could be constructed faster, more efficiently, and with minimal environmental impact. This vision led to the creation of Kelvin6K.

At its core, Kelvin6K is built around an innovative robotic 3D construction technology that replaces traditional brick-and-mortar processes with automated systems capable of printing structures layer by layer. The company has developed mobile machines that can be deployed directly at construction sites, enabling on-demand building with minimal labor.

In addition, Kelvin6K offers Construction-as-a-Service (CaaS), allowing clients to access its technology without heavy upfront investment. This makes it highly attractive for developers, institutions, and infrastructure projects looking for faster and cost-effective solutions.

The startup gained significant recognition after appearing on Shark Tank India Season 5, where Dr. Sundarraj presented not just a product but a long-term vision for automated and sustainable construction. He sought Rs. 1 crore for 1.3% equity, resulting in a high valuation that reflected the company’s deep-tech positioning.

What stood out during the pitch was that Kelvin6K was not just conceptual-it had already executed real-world projects using its technology. The company demonstrated how its mobile autonomous 3D printing systems could build small structures and public infrastructure, showcasing both speed and precision.

Working on Solar-Powered 3D Construction Systems
During discussions, the sharks showed interest in the scalability and uniqueness of the model, though concerns were raised about capital intensity and long adoption cycles. Following negotiations, Dr. Sundarraj secured a deal with Ritesh Agarwal, who invested Rs. 1 crore for 2.86% equity along with advisory support. Although the valuation was revised downward, the strategic backing enhanced credibility and opened pathways for future growth and partnerships.

Financially, Kelvin6K is still in an early but developing stage. The company reported revenue of around Rs. 30 lakh in FY2023-24, which increased to approximately Rs. 72 lakh in FY 2024-25, indicating gradual market acceptance of its technology. Like many hardware-driven startups, Kelvin6K is currently operating at a loss due to high investments in research, development, and deployment. However, as project volumes grow and efficiency improves, this gap is gradually narrowing.

What makes Kelvin6K particularly compelling is its forward-looking vision. Beyond current applications, the company is working on innovations such as solar-powered 3D construction systems aimed at making the process more sustainable and energy-efficient. It is also exploring the use of its technology in extreme environments to prepare for global markets and futuristic construction use cases.

Focus on Expanding Technology and Project Portfolio
At present, Kelvin6K is actively working on scaling its technology and expanding its project portfolio. Its registered entity, Kelvin6K Technologies Private Limited, remains active, reflecting continuous development and business activity.

From its inception in 2020 to becoming a Shark Tank-funded venture, Kelvin6K’s journey highlights how deep technology and bold thinking can transform even the most traditional industries-gradually reshaping the future of construction through automation and innovation.
