Business Remedies | Rajshree Upadhyaya | By using nutrient-rich ingredients, Healthy Master has prepared clean snacks and Shivali Garg has built her identity. Healthy Master began with a personal concern, which soon turned into a mission. In 2019, when co-founder Shivali Garg noticed that the snacks available for her children were full of refined flour, refined sugar and preservatives, she felt there had to be a better way. This thought also struck her husband Tarun Agrawal and close friend Deepti Singhal, and together, they decided to create options that were both tasty and nutritious. Starting with small recipe trials in a simple kitchen in Bengaluru, the effort soon transformed into an enterprise redefining the way Indian families snack.
Their first challenge was to balance indulgence and nutrition. They experimented with millets, oats, soy, seeds, and dry fruits, testing recipes until they found products that were crunchy, delicious, yet free from refined flour and artificial additives. These innovations were not only about avoiding harmful ingredients but also about incorporating nutrient-rich items into daily consumption. Over time, the team created a portfolio including roasted mixes, baked treats, protein-rich bites and millet-based savories. With more than 250 variants, Healthy Master has become a rare player in the healthy snacking category, offering something for every taste and age group.
Reached different consumer groups through a three-dimensional approach
The turning point came when the team decided to take their story to a national platform through Shark Tank India. For them, the pitch was less about theatrics and more about finding a partner who believed in their larger mission to change India’s snacking habits. On the show, they presented their journey with honesty and explained how deeply personal this issue was for them as parents. They sought funding to enhance manufacturing capacity and streamline distribution so that they could reach more households across India. Their conviction resonated with the sharks, and eventually, they received an investment of Rs. 50 lakh from Vineeta Singh, who not only saw a business opportunity but also a brand that could reach millions of families. Immediately after Shark Tank, there was a surge in recognition and trust among customers. Orders multiplied, visibility increased, and the team found themselves facing challenges they had earlier only imagined. They responded by strengthening their omni-channel strategy, combining direct-to-consumer online sales with offline presence in select stores, and also entering the corporate gifting space. This three-dimensional approach helped Healthy Master reach different consumer groups, whether school children looking for snacks or professionals seeking an energy boost during work.
Maintained balance between taste and health
What set the company apart during this phase of growth was its unwavering stance on quality. Even as production volumes grew, they emphasized strict quality checks, clean labeling, and minimal oil usage. This discipline gave the brand credibility in a sector often criticized for exaggerated health claims. Their transparency helped build trust, especially among health-conscious youth and families looking for alternatives to traditional fried snacks.
Healthy Master’s story is not one of overnight success, but of consistent decisions rooted in care and conviction. Every new product launched reflects the same philosophy of balancing taste and health. The brand has transformed a personal concern into a broader idea relevant across demographic groups. By staying authentic, moving forward with innovation, and using Shark Tank as a platform for recognition, Healthy Master has carved its place in India’s rapidly growing healthy snacking industry.
For Shivali Garg, Tarun Agrawal and Deepti Singhal, the journey continues with the same inspiration with which it began – to create snacks that parents can trust, children can enjoy, and to instill in India the belief that health and taste can go hand in hand.
